Good Morning everyone, for the last three years I have worn a NIVI mask over night for a minimum of 5 hours. Although recently I have felt I have needed to wear it for longer periods of time. Does anyone else ever feel the need to do this? I am just wondering if its down to the hot weather or that I may be coming down with something.
Kind regards as always

cannot advise you with a definitive answer, can share my experience I’m using my bi-pap more often so much so the neuromuscular team are planning a home visit to start me on a portable device, currently in hospital with pneumonia for the first time since my Bronchiectasis diagnosis.
My usage is high, however not dependent as yet.
I suggest you contact the team who manage your care.
Hi JoeIt’s so good to have the warm weather isn’t it but as you say it can mean adjustment. I can’t advise but I usually find that my sense of what I need is fairly accurate. Do contact your care team and let them know what you are experiencing.
Hi Joe, I’ve been using BiPAP for 4 years now and like to use it for at least 9 hours a day, I tend to go to bed about 11pm and wake between 6 and 6.30 am, particularly during the summer months, I then go on the BiPAP at 4 until 6pm I don’t go to bed or sleep, I just use it whilst I’m on my PC in the afternoon, but yes the weather is nice at the moment, but it is tiring for most people especially those with respiratory conditions.
I use mine all the time I’m at home day and night, I only don’t when I go out shopping etc. But I do have a portable one which I’m thinking of taking out with me as I find it helps better than oxygen my respiratory nurse knows this and has said it’s looking like I’m coming dependant on it but all I can say I’d rather depend on it than struggle
