Hi Carol, welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your dear mum and her struggles. Does she have good medical support with meds that help? Maybe a referral to a respiratory consultant would be good if she doesn’t have one.

Thinking of you and your mum. Xxxx

Hi, I think it would be as well to speak to her doctor if this is a new problem. If she doesn't usually have wheezing and crackling she may have an infection that needs treating.

Hi Carol and welcome to our forum.

As CDPO16 and sassy59 have mentioned, it would be advisable to speak to your Mum's health care practitioners for guidance on her symptoms. I have added a link for you to our website about managing breathlessness you may find useful. Do give our nurses a call at the Helpline if you would like further advice on 03000 030 555
