I know where you're coming from Whit, having the same problem myself at the moment,& it is frustrating!

It sounds like you need to get back to the Doctor,as things aren't working!

Don't worry about having a moan, you are quite entitled!

We can't be positive all the time,& we are here to support each other, hope better days around the corner! Love Wendells xxx

I can fully understand why you would be feeling a bit down - my husband is the same. I agree with Wendells you need to go back to the doctor. When my husband starts with infections it can take two/three/four courses of abs and steroids to fully recover. Better to be safe. Take good care and wishing you the speediest recovery TAD xx

Whit - I finished the exact same prescription last week after a few days felt the aching ribs return and tho I'm nearly positive and cheerful it was starting to get to me which is unusual. But I keep saying to myself- This **%* is not gonna pull me down, (tho it is frustrating) so i start doing things that I enjoy no matter how trivial and try and take my mind off things, if you dwell problems snowball !! If you start to feel really low speak to the doctor rather than suffer they are there to help !! Your not moaning, just telling it how it is, and it's good to get things of your chest (preferably phlegm !!).. Hope you pick up soon... keep smiling -Plumbob

Mainly at bottom of ribs (feels like I've been leaning on a the bar far too long) its more of an ache but I also get aching up the sides and between my shoulder blades (feels like my corset has been over tightened... LOL). but sometimes the ache turns into pain, and I just can't seem to get into a comfortable position to ease it !!

Getting the mucus off your chest is good ! It's nice and warm and damp there, just like the little wee beasties need to survive. The less there is, the less chance they have ! :)

Afternoon

Doesn't matter how ill you are. It's very depressing sometimes and can drag you right down, so you moan away if it helps. As for infection get straight back on to the doctor.

Keep us posted, and best of luck.

Hope you feel some improvement soon Whit. I've been the same for about 6 weeks now, two courses of steroids, the last one being tapered and seeming to go on forever. No infection, just a worsening in breathlessness, it does get you down - is it going to improve? get worse? am I ever going to go back to where I was a few weeks ago? All you can do us try and plod on, its so easy to just sit and do nothing which in the long run doesn't help (and which I'm guilty of), just trying to do bits and keep my fingers crossed, Libby

It is very draining having continual infections and most of us have a moan now and again - there are lots of folks here who understand this will support you.

As you have just completed a course of abs which doesn't seem to have helped you might want to ask GP if putting in a sputum sample might be helpful, although in the meantime I would expect him/her to either try a different ab or give you a longer/higher dose of the same.

Good luck

love cx
