Good morning everyone,

Thanks to all the new posters, and again to those wgo have already answered this.

It is reassuring to hear that I am not imagining the consequences of showering, high humidity, and wet weather.

If only health professionals could be persuaded that it is a real phenomenon.

Hi phillipjr, I sometimes think that they have blinkers on around the semantics of conditions and the issues faced on a daily basis.

I have experienced this elsewhere, where experience, and knowledge, has been dismissed by a person, purely because they didn't think of it.However, it's been something that the medical profession had known for centuries that certaun medical conditions responded to particular environments.

I find a hot, dry day can improve breathing to a remarkable degree, but what do we know, we only experience it.

I have Bronchiectasis and when I was telling my consultant that I was suffering from a bit of breathlessness he asked me if it was worse in the shower. Clearly my consultant is special 😃

My GP asked me about showering, He advised to open windows to allow steam to dissipate and set for a cooler shower.That works, Except getting into the bath shower is a Pickford's crane job!!!

Thanks for your response. The trouble is in winter, where opening windows not only freezes you, but cold air and hot water is a guarantee for more steam.I had an unwanted extraction fan fitted, which only served to lower the temperature of my wet room!

It makes a difference for a consultant to ask question, my vascular surgeon just talks at people.I don't have a consultant for my chest, just a brand new doctor, I must have one, but they are being remarkably low-key.
