Rather than ramble on about this evil, selfish, greedy government I thought I would try to be more positive! If like me you have to pay for your prescriptions the best way is the PPC,Prescription Pre-payment Certificate.I pay direct debit of £10.40 for 10 months. If I paid individually it would be £64.00 every month. If you,re on benefits( some ) you may not need to pay for your prescriptions check with the C.A.B. Good breathing!D.

Me too stone. I never knew about this until someone told me on here. I assumed you only got them free on state pension retirement age. I was well pleased. x

Hi FarmerD, Years ago, when I came down with RA (Diagnosis changed later.) I didn't work but my partner did, so I was having to pay for mine too, I only found out about being able to via PPC off a friend after moaning about the last prescription being over £35.00.

Also, anyone getting any amount of working tax credit doesn't pay for prescriptions/Glasses either. It's surprising how many people don't know that either.

It's awful how you have to find these things out the hard way. x

Those of us who live in Wales get free prescriptions no matter what age or circumstances. But the ppc is definitely the cheaper option in England if not on benefits.

I pay £104.00 a year for mine I don't expect to get my blood pressure tablets for free but I do think we should get all meds to do with COPD free people with diabetes get all the meds free, I fully understand people with diabetes need insulin to stay alive like we need our meds to help us breath.

It always confuses me,prescriptions are free in Scotland and Wales, not sure about Northern Ireland ,so we who live in England subsidise those who don,t.I,m Scottish which makes it even sillier.
