Hi to all you all hope everyone is keeping well and as cheerful as can be in this mad world at moment 🥴 I would just like to ask anyone who is shielding if there is any idea if shielding will carry on after 22nd feb . I know Boris is going to announce the road map on the 22nd out of lockdown but am a bit on edge as I am shielding due to severe asthma and moderate COPD , I know shielding ends in England on the 21st feb which would mean like many others I will be back to work from 22nd I am worrying as there is no announcement re shielding or will we be informed before 21st if we carry on shielding . Don’t get me wrong I work in the NHS and would love to be back in work which I miss dreadfully but also know for my family I have to shield . My work will expect me in the day after my shielding date is up surely we must be given notice anyway sorry to ramble but has anybody any idea how or when us shielders will be informed .

Hi Olliepops! Sorry I can't help, but I too would love to hear! I understand that they only make decisions at the last minute "based on the science" at that time, but I dont think they realise that we actually have lives to plan! I would preferably want to wait until after my second jab before going back to work as i am very customer facing (Tesco checkout!). Good luck with whatever we are told! xx

Hi Olliepops, if I'm correct remembering what I'd read either in my letter or on the gov website it said that they will send another letter before that date. ( obviously if we're to continue shielding) Like you and many others in our situation, we can't wait until the 22nd before letting our employers know whether or not we'll be in work that day! Hope this helps 🙂

Wales has now been extended to March 31st and Scotland until further notice. So I think we usually aren’t far behind?

Sorry I can't help with your question, I usually watch the Downing Street Briefings when they are having one to try to keep up to date with what is happening. I hope you can find out soon so that you know what you are doing.

Depends where you are living Olliepops, England is still waiting to hear on the situation.

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will have their own dates determine by their own governments.

I spotted this for Wales: ( to April !!)

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-558...

of course it could change but each part of the UK will need to look to their own governments for updates on this.
