Hello all, I got the call today for my vaccine, having it on Saturday 6th February, was beginning to think I would never hear as everyone around me has already had theirs. I live in Suffolk xx

Thats good. My sisters live in Suffolk near Bury. Older sis & husband have theirs on Wednesday. I believe parts of Suffolk were slow to start but seem to be really going for it now. Great innit!

Yes Suffolk was reported as being the slowest roll out of the vaccine, I live in Bury. Thank heavens the roll out has now picked up. Hope your sister and her husband get on OK. I have the paracetamol ready on stand by in case I get any side effects.

Feeling left out lol. I too live in Suffolk but still waiting. Has been frustrating hearing from family and friends already having theirs and Suffolk so far behind. It's so good to hear of local people now getting their appointments.. Anyone been to the mass vaccination site in Ipswich. . So good to hear positive news from Suffolk .

I too had been feeling left out with everyone I know having had their jabs so do understand how you feel, it is horrible. I do hope that you get the call very soon to go for yours. I am going to my Doctors surgery, I don't know anyone who has been to a mass vaccination site but perhaps Bury is just that bit to far away from Ipswich.

Thank you for your support. So pleased you have yours arranged..Our gp. is in mid suffolk and part of suffolk gp federation and they are ones organising . Every time the news is telling us how many have been done you start to get impatient. Know there are many others feeling the same. I am hoping I can get mine in The Mix in stowmarket but I obviously will go anywhere. Our gp surgery not doing it. But anxious about going to large venue with lots people around after shielding so much. It has been so encouraging hearing of other Suffolk residents getting the jab. Stay well and look forward to getting lives back soon.

Yes I was anxious about the possibility of being sent to a large venue as I have been shielding all the way through since last March, only been to Doctors, Opticians, Dentist and Hospital appointments throughout all this. I knew my doctors didn't have the freezer requirement for the Pfizer vaccine but they are now doing the AstraZeneca vaccine but I didn't care which I got as long as I got a jab. Like you everytime when it came on the news about how many had been vaccinated it just made me more and more anxious thinking that perhaps somehow I had been missed of the list. I really do hope that you get the call sooner rather than later. Please hang in there, will be thinking of you, let me know when you do get your appointment.

Yippee. Letter arrived and booked appoint tomorrow evening at Ipswich mass vaccination centre . So relieved. Letter dated 29Jan so letters do take a while to be received. Hope everyone in extremely vulnerable all get theirs very soon wherever they live.

So pleased you got your jab. Did you feel safe at the mass vaccination centre. Did you have to wait outside for long. Best wishes sue

Hi yes felt very safe. It was their first day at the centre so we did have a little wait but stickers on floor so socially distanced. If people didn’t go early then there would be no queues.

I haven’t heard a thing about an appointment for the Covid vaccine. I have heard several in my area of Angus have had theirs so I’m feeling left out lol.

I'm sure you will soon Gladwyn. Everywhere seems to be picking up. Tuesday 26th I had a text warning me I'd get an appointment within 2 months. Saturday 30th had three more texts, last one telling me I'd get a link to book an appointment within 2 weeks! Then this morning another text with a link plus a phone number. Feeling very relieved to get started o 3rd 🥳🥳

Just had mine on Sunday at the new super vaccination centre at Derby Arena. There were hundreds of people there. However, plenty of car parking, good social distancing, lots of volunteers doing a great job. It was very cold but it only took 45 minutes from start to finish. 😀

I have my Vaccine tomorrow 3rd February

Have mine booked for today. 2.50pm at local Health Centre. Live on South Coast, West Sussex. Bit nervous, not of the jab exactly but I have Leukemia so hope I don't get nasty side effects with my already compromised immune system but I'm assured that it will be better than getting COVID. Getting the AstraZenica one.

Purpled profile image
Purpled in reply to Copey399

Hi how did you get on any side effects?

Copey399 profile image
Copey399 in reply to Purpled

Hi, it was all very quick and efficient, thank you. I was annoyed, though, that having asked when my appointment was booked and been told I was getting the AstraZenica vaccine (my preferred choice) and trusting that was the case, it wasn't until I was waiting the obligatory 15 minutes after that I noticed on the card I was given that I'd had the Pfizer one 😕 So far only side effect is a bit uncomfortable at the injection site.

They're very lucky if they're only in their mid 60s and are getting the jab.

I got 'phone call yesterday, saying that they'd sent out letters, but had realised that many of them were being delayed in the post, so calling as well. I have appointment for tomorrow afternoon, and second jab booked for 28 April (Aberdeenshire) Husband is 22 months younger, so in a different age band, just hope he gets his very soon, but probably not a bad thing if we don't get them at the same time, in case we feel any after effects for a day or two. After a slow start, they seem to be really powering through it now.

Hope everybody on here gets theirs very soon.

Just had mine on Sunday 31st Jan at the University Hospital of Wales following a telephone call out of the blue on Friday, I only had a sore arm and minor lethargy for a day :-) So pleased as I expected to be in 65's group. Will have the 2nd jab mid April, bring it on.
