I just don’t believe it ........😫

Hi everyone , hope you all had a better new year and are feeling bright and cheerful now 2021 is here ........given most of us are in further lock down again 😤😤😤😤😤

My chest suddenly disappeared 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 everything went very quiet.....the mice singing , the squeaky bike , the string section of orchestra tuning up at 3 am in the morning ......you name it it just went overnight and that was it .....oh happy days no coughing, noise, loss of sleep ....heaven 😇😇.

Ha! Today woke up and out of the blue some five days after nothing , not a sausage 🌭 ( pork not beef by the way ) it’s back with vengeance ....wheezing, coughing , feeling like l’ve got half a pound of porridge in my chest .

I don’t normally swear ( a lady doesn’t does she 😈😈😈) but this makes me want to let rip like a fishmongers wife ! I just don't believe it .

Two days ago l had an ulcerative colitis attack which lasted 23 1/2 hours , almost passed out on the loo, cold sweating , pain ripping through my large intestines, bleeding like hell, morphine ....oh my lovely friend come to mummy 😘😘😘😘.

So called doctor , yes will call me back later ....never did . Next day called doctor , yes will call me back later ....never did. It’s now been four days ( weekend in between ) l’ve been told if l bleed like a stuck pig call them as last time l lost so much blood l became anaemic overnight literally....passing out on the doorstep with a cake delivery .......a peppa pig one call pink and pigs .

So here l am flat in bed again ...chest with the mice from the magical mouse organ. ( can you remember this kids program ?) having a party .....bowel sore as hell but no bleeding now, toe still black and sore and to top it all l’ve just been to the loo in my big soft fluffy ‘ you could curl up and die in it it’s so comfy ‘ dressing gown and peed all over the belt .........😝😝😝😝😝😝

Happy new year all .

Hi Barclay.. Luv reading ur stories... Although not the illness bits.. Hope by now ur feeling a bit better.. Isnt itcrazy. 😱 We worry so much.. When we're actually feeling a bit better. Its the. Waiting... Knowing whats around the corner... But doesnt it feel wonderful when we do feel well. Ive managed a walk with the woofs.. Poppy. Lola. And. Cherie. Just short ones.. The walks not tje woofs. There nearly as big as me. As the weather has been cold.. Sunny no wind. But this morning cannot get out of the back door. Think Torvill and Dean been using the courtyard. Total skating rink.. Woofs doing audition for Bambi stand in.. So there I am huffing and puffing trying to pull old carpets over cobbles to try making a path to walk on.. Dont like salt down as woofs end up at vet.. Sore paws.. And I end up more puffing trying to clean carpet.. Please send your cleaner up for a holiday 😂.. Lovely snowy views of Arran but plenty of stuff to clean in my house.. See... Theres someone else who cant stop talking.. And I diversify all the time.. Mind goes from one thing to another... Where was I?? 😳🙄 Oh Barbados.. Or was it Alaska.. Skating.. Anyway. We should join up our stories. Going to try to skate to other side of courtyard to get to car.... My hubby.. In care home managed to get his vaccination. So Im soooo waiting and looking forward to getting mine... God knows when.?? Anyone in group know where we lungies stand in when we get ours do we get included in the top group... Im 72 next month... Cant believe it. Mybrain is only 30.. I better sign off. Sun shining. And hopeyou all are having as good a day as possible... Orhave u all dropped off zzzz during my looong drivel. Happy Days. Grom Margarita and the woofs.

Omg your just like me crazy as a box of frogs ...but better this way then miserable of *its ......read my new post when l’ve written it ..... l’ve just caught a scammer ....l may be 65 this year ...oh hell , l remember as a 18 year old thinking now l wonder what l will be like at 65 .....we’ll just as barmy as 18 is the answer .Im trying to take stuff round ...via my son to my little family ( mum, dad and two small kids , one with autism) a food pack , you know things like foodies, juice, biscuits and small pack items for the kids to keep them going .

Hubby’s been kissing the stairs again ...had a hell of a fall and landed ...wait for it , on the swivel handle of the stair lift .......why oh why doesn’t he use it ? he now has one hell of an impression of the handle on his ribs plus another 3-4 inches of bruising up, down and around it ......oh, don’t make me laugh !

My two four legged critters are as crazy as ever , last night hubby kept waking me up as cat number one Treacle was in his baby’s nest ( bought from a baby site for each of them spoilt cats ) snoring at the top of his little voice ...dam man thinking it was me , cheek .

We had some very big hail stones here and some ice but nothing much else , mind you we are high up and have a wooden decking in front of the house with wooden steps and on the left side a big pond ...just 6 ft deep ! I ask you what fool digs a 6 ft pond right next to a wooden decking that gets slippery ............😫😫😫😫😫😫and yes you guessed it l did fall in one Christmas ...head first , braking my ribs but worst of all swallowing live baby leeches ...😝😝😝😝😝😝 in a fake fur coat , with my purse and two dozen Chrissy cards in my hand l was not in a good way .....🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 got dragged out by next door who said it was like watching something from a Monty python sketch ...had to go to A & E as l kept ducking up black things ....omg did we laugh . .......will tell you about the hole, the bucket of cement and the vicar next time ....muggings ended up with a broken ankle .

Bye for now margarita and the woofers and to anyone who’s reading ...

Ami and her four legged furry bottomed critters .

Im always happy ...even when l think lm miserable l laugh at something , hubby thinks l was born with a screw loose ( dam cheek )I just don’t see the point in being miserable , hubby ,son and l have laughed so much in the years as we have fallen down the stairs, fallen in the pond, done the splits in the kitchen , fallen head first into a freezer in Iceland .....that the shop not the country !

One week mike my son .....broke a finger running up the stairs ........hospital .

Broke his ankle jumping over a chain link fence .......hospital again.

Had his eardrum burst at 3 am ....hospital again.

Knocked himself out at school modding the door .....back again to hospital .....the A&E consultant said it was a good job he knew us or he’d suspect child abuse .......mmmmmm , bit difficult as mike was over 20 and 6 ft + tall ( lm 5 ft 2 ) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hi, I'm horrified reading your post! In fact I dont know how you are dealing with the situation so well. Have you always had a response from your surgery like this? How are you managing? Do you live alone? Have you anyone who can help you? I know I'm asking lots of questions because this is a serious situation. You must keep ringing your GP to get some help.I do hope this dreadful situation is resolved soon. Please let us know how you get on.

Best wishes xxx

I live with a very disabled husband who also has Alzheimer’s, my 28 year old son lives with us as he has POTS a heart condition which can be very unstable, so lm not alone , at this time my housekeepers away because of her children and the new covid upgrade but she will lm sure be back soon .We sort ourselves out quite well , mike sorts meals with my help , we all sort the house out ( it’s a little cottage so no big deal ) the village we live in know us all well and facebooks a great help, l’ve even got a Sainsbury’s delivery and anything big l get from amazon .

My doctors are in the next village , since new houses have been built there they are just over run by patients at this time , we get all our drugs from them via email and they are delivered by our chemist ( known for over 20-30 years ) my problem is not being able to speak to them like l could in the past , it’s all call back ...call back , so far this time it’s fours she has missed , roll on Monday .

Barclay1560 in reply to Damon1864

Thank you Bernadette , lm back on the bed with my little ( or should say very big ) shadow........ treacle .....he follows me everywhere l go !Ive just had some coffee and my son made me a cheese toasty in the George Forman grill .

I tell you it’s the best thing since sliced bread , we have the biggest machine it takes 4 huge chicken breasts at once and is brilliant , chicken breasts, burgers , gammons, steaks, toasty sand so much easier than one of those toasty machines which end up in a terrible mess, you just spray this machine with antibacterial spray leave it to cool and wipe all mess away.

What we do if we want a snack : butter top & bottom of a bap.

Add grated cheese + lean ham + tomato ( thin sliced or mushroom ) to the unbuttoned middle and pop them butter side up and down in machine and cook , after 3 mins turn them over cook for a further 3 mins ....no sticking it’s wonderful .

Beware as the inside gets very hot but omg are they really yummy .

We got ours last year in the sale at Sainsbury’s and it’s the best thing we have ever bought for the kitchen ....left over chicken with cream of mushroom soup ( the condensed one ) in a bap ....always butter on the outsides ...delish ...left over spaghetti meat sauce ? .....in a bap ........banana and custard ....bap it ....very hot so watch it !

I stay happy because lm still alive , l’ve been close to death so many times now and survived each one ....First had a baby .10 days later ......septicaemia + pulmonary oedema + heart failure + kidney failure ...took three months to get back on my feet but was left with heart conditions.

Second.....car crash , hit by a man going to his stag do in a hired 4 x 4 with bull bars claiming he didn’t see me ...hit in front of juggernaut at a huge roundabout for dockyard traffic in Suffolk , the lorry driver clipped me and almost jackknifed , he went into shock , l went onto a big roundabout with the back of my brand new mini in the front with me ...everything , the firemen had to cut me out of my car , broken ribs, broken arm , head injures , leg injures , spleen , kidney .....driving 6 months later in a new mini .

Third ......pre eclampsia and post toxaemia so bad they had to endure my son 7 weeks early as my blood pressure hit the roof and l had a mini stroke , was left with right side a bit slow and word jumbles ......very funny at times .

Last ...this November’s epic of liver abscess, bile ducts blocked , kidney failure and jolly old septicaemia second time .

So it’s either lm destined for something in the furtive ...helping other is what lm good at..........or............only the good die young and l must be a very wicked person , mmmmmmm l think possibly the first unless you think waking son up with feathers in his ears ....cold water dripped on him .......opening his eyelids and saying ‘ l can see you ‘ pulling all the bedcovers off him ( he sleeps in p.js.) and running off with them counts 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 naughty mother .

Envy your sense of humour, I have had a catalogue of issues, one thing after another over the past 5 years and often say to myself OK what next let's just get on with it. From all your experiences I really will try harder to not get so down about things.😊😊😊

Hey, careful with Morphine. It's strong stuff though. I knew a lady that under influence dialed 999 instead 111 about 52 times. The thing is when you really need them on that vital 53rd time-they won't call in. Take care and use right helpline 😊📞

Barclay1560 in reply to Tanya13

Im strange with drugs , as recorded recently in hospital ld been taking 80 mg if OxyContin twice a day plus top ups of morphine for chronic pain ( all my conditions having a party at my expense ) in hospital they stopped every painkiller ...dead ...that’s painkillers not me !And nothing ...no withdrawal , side effects ....not a thing , which amazed my consultant as ld been on them for many, many years ...the only thing was after 36 hours the pain came back like being hit by a train , l was crying with pain in my legs couldn’t walk , kept peeing myself ( mind you l did have kidney failure that was being sorted and things kept going wrong, instead of holding my pee ...it was the other way , l didn’t get jaundice either from liver problems .....lm classed as ‘ very strange ‘ by my consultants ....all five of them ) l don’t get any side effect from drugs at all .....they have tested me for years , but then l don’t have any ....don’t panic now ..sense of taste or smell at all and yes l a retired chef so work that one out if you can .....l seem to sense things , l lost my taste and smell about 15 years ago , it’s strange eating things , sometimes l get a hint but normally nothing ... and .yes , people have played tricks on me over the years , nice ones not nasty l might add.

Ami .

Hi I do hope you feel better soon. Can't believe doctors didn't phone you back. I know how your feeling and that feeling of morphine come to me in the height of your pain is just overwhelming when you think you might pass up. So with all my heart I do hope you feel better soon xx

Barclay1560 in reply to Sallyb29

Hi sally , hope you had a great Christmas and new year , lm doing ok , up and down with pain each day but getting more able to do bits and bobs now .I am careful with my morphine as l take slow realise painkillers as well , never over dosed knowingly! ( l make up evening & morning meds’ in little sealed pots ...blue for night time and yellow for morning so l don’t have to mess about when lm feeling sleepy , l do my husbands as well )

Unfortunately one night having taken my evening pot of meds l fell asleep with the light on , waking with a start some two hours later , my drugs pot was on the bedside table ....thinking it was morning as it was light l took them all........double dosing every drug...heart, painkiller you name it .

Called 111 who informed me because of my heart conditions l had to go straight to hospital to be monitored and watched ...........so now l keep my morning pot in my bedside drawer until needed and have never done it again, but omg did it scare me at the time .

Well........l’ve been in contact with my doctor again ( receptionist) and she cannot understand what’s going on , luckily lm over the 2-3 days of utter pain , cold sweats and feeling completely shattered . My doctor has now made arrangements to call me .......ohhhhhh flying pigs l see again ?So lm not waiting holding my breath as the likelihood is ld be laying in a box by now .

With another lock down in progress lm not sure what’s going to happen with going into hospital to get this ( lm thinking if l go back 4 years to when it kicked of big time it must be my 10-12th ) colonoscopy l’ve had done ......if all the tubes where joined / lined up l recon you could investigate the bowels of an elephants....a giraffe and a couple of kangaroos.....if you could catch them.

Today lm sitting in my kitchen explaining how to cut and fit the base boards to my kitchen units ( after decorating the kitchen + new dishwasher l discovered the old ones had deteriorated somewhat ) , then it’s washing down all the tiles as l have some stunning tiles to go over the old ones on the whole kitchen .....little squares of bright shiny multi colours .....then it’s painting a small wall which has become grubby from man who fitted the flooring and hopefully it should be done ...l started in March 2020 but with lock downs , illnesses and none delivery of items l will be pleased to get it finished ......it will be quite an emotional event after months of concrete flooring , no kick boards , half painted etc .👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Anyone else planning a bit of DIY in lockdown even if like me it’s via my son !

Walkwalkwalk profile image

I am glad that you have made it to your supervisory role in the kitchen and feeling a bit better. I have a growing list for when end of lockdown and vaccination coincide. Meanwhile I am working round oiling the wooden work surfaces. A job I usually love but it’s never taken me so long: doing such little bits at a time. It will probably become my equivalent of the Forth Bridge that I used to see every day on my way to school.

Happy 2021 DIY vicariously through your son.

Barclay1560 in reply to Walkwalkwalk

Hello and welcome to 2021 in all it’s lock down glory ☹️☹️ Well there’s no escaping it for the next few weeks we are all stuck in our homes looking at the four walls and the garden ( if you have one ) before this all started in March l had the kitchen and dinning room decorated , but no flooring put down as covid hit , now with new kitchen floor down its other that have to be done ....like the whole house !!! Our little house hasn’t been touched for 20 years , 20 years ago everything was painted, new carpets, curtains you name it .......l did replace bedding at least four times in that 20 years, towels you know the things used the most ....but it was just a case of touching up the paintwork when needed.

The beginning of 2020 was it , having looked around the place l decided it had to be done ...typical l chose the year everything shut down .😤😤😤

My spare room now looks like a cross between some DIY show , Amazon online and the Chelsea flower show .

l have bought each rooms needs .... all the paints curtains, bedding, rugs in the bedrooms with carpets bought and just waiting to be laid ....our bedrooms terrible , now hubby has Alzheimer’s and his unsteady on his feet the carpets looking like we’ve had a pack of dogs fighting for there dinner on it , plus l was sick in November all over it ...many, many times 🤮🤮🤮🤮 so lm turning it over to soft thick vinyl with rugs.

With downstairs l bought a new leather curved suite and rug all the huge curtains for the vast bay windows and a modern chandelier, bookcases...omg you name it it is in my spare room , trying to get to paints , brushes is like going on an expedition to Mount Everest , in fact that would be easier as once you move things the rest have a will of there own and start leaping at you , wallpaper seems to want to string from high areas knocking you off your feet , paint brushes fly in the air and as for champagne glasses 🤔🤔🤔🤔 what champagne glasses you say ?

Well in this little 12x 12 room l also have 360 event glasses stored ( stunning hard plastic ones ) in three types, 400 pieces of cutlery and so many lines of flowers ( used to cover archways ) once you get into the room it’s more like a jungle ...until you fall over the boot stand and impale yourself on a hundred chopsticks which some fool left upright in there ( if your wondering why so much catering stuff it’s because before all this started l was a events company and l’ve had to store it in the bedroom as l can’t get to my company’s storage / office )

Happy DIY ...my poor son don’t know what he’s let himself in for .🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫

So it’s 3 am in the morning and not wanting to wake hubby up , because l think he’s asleep , which he wasn't by the way ....l lay looking around a black room !Thinking what do l do as lm not tired l decided to try moving my toe ( the one strapped to another because it’s broken ) so lm laying there ....left foot ‘ up and down ‘ ....’ up and down ‘ bending my toes as l say the words very quietly ......right foot ( broken one ) ‘ bendy toe ‘ ‘ bendy toe ‘ ........of course nothing’s happening....... except hot breath is felt on my face and l open my eyes with a start to find hubby awake leaning over me .....’ errrrr Ami have you gone completely mad ‘ ?

Hubby didn’t have his hearing aids in so what l was saying and what he heard was completely different .........l was saying ‘ up and down and bendy toe ‘ but he though he heard ‘ stuff the clown and off we go ‘ which st 3 am in the morning out of the blue must have had him rather worried that his wife had actually lost the plot ......men don’t we just love them .!

Had a letter from hospital today about my lung function tests .....bit strange but then with all this covid it’s to be expected .Im going on the 21st of this month to a certain car park in the hospital grounds with my driver ( who’s masked ) the test people will then come out to my car , l roll the window down and they start the tests running .

They must have to bring a computer with them as they want my height and weight to work things out .....l’ve never had a test ( other than covid ) in a car before and cannot for the life of me work out how they will do it correctly .....my mice are back on their bicycles , must by some oil as the squeaking getting loud again.
