One, two , three of us in bed now ......cats just bouncing around !

What a night and now day ...first my musical chest and now hard breathing got the better of me at 5 am when l thought ld locked one of my cats in the bathroom but it was me ! So l took a puff of my inhaler and sitting upright fell asleep ....only to be woken up by my little ( only 25 lbs + ) Maine coon cat gently trying to prise my eyes open ...how sweet of him 🤬🤬🤬.

Once awake l was informed by my disabled hubby he had called the docs because as well as everything else he has ( so many illnesses and an amputee + Alzheimer’s) he now felt like he’d been hit by a steam roller , his eyes hurt so much he thought he had acid in them and all his teeth needed to be removed ....well don’t look at me l can’t drive a car let alone a steamroller ....out of sons room comes ‘ mum.....l’ve got chest pain ‘ oh ...*uck .....mike my son has postural orthostatic tachycardia Syndrome...POTS , he was due his MOT when covid hit so that went down the pan . Calling doctors again ( poor woman on reception) must think we have lost the plot as this time lm calling about son explaining his Pots and his need for an ECG ( lm now thinking of buying an ECG as it would save all this back and forth )

So as it stands ...hubby is in bed next to me groaning and swearing ...which in turn is making me laugh as he doesn’t normally come out with things like that ...in turn lm coughing like a banshee until lm heaving ....which has my smallest Maine coon sticking his head out from under the bed ( he has a babies nest he sleeps in under my side ) with a look of what’s up mum leaping all over me .......followed by son who’s sitting in bed calling out to see if we are all ok still suffering chest pain .....but clever mum here has dosed him out with Lansoprazole and he’s now crunching a gaviscon tablets ( not at the same time ) he’s sitting in bed with a heart monitor + blood pressure + oxy meter on looking st his phone ....oh happy days says she who is now about to go into another cold sweat ( liver ) and want to go to the window and scream ....can’t as coughing would start again .

My housekeep arrives soon so she can take over ....no lm not rich but needs must and as we are all stuck in bed it’s a big must ....omg my 2 new mattress toppers have just arrived ( l was very sick .....indeed when l was taken ill in November so we had to replace ours so did sons as well ) ..oh no , just remembered my Sainsbury’s order arrives soon ....let me go some clothes on and hopefully not have another coughing session .

By the way if you look me up under ‘ Mother Duck ‘ lm the lady who cooked full meals, fruit, cake, snacks etc and cared / nursed 5 isolated villages when covid first hit ( ex BNA nurse and chef ) which is how l managed to get so ill .....never rains but it pours guys.

We just laugh most of the time ...with my son calling out from his room ‘ oi, you two grow up and behave ‘ ........we laugh so much l normally end up coughing like a train once l get started l can’t stop , so we have to stop laughing ....everything’s funny even when hubby cracks his toes on the metal bed frame or falls down the stairs , l sometimes laugh with tears streaming down my face while hubby’s rolling about rubbing his bruises , which sets him and my son off .....lm wondering if it’s catching !

I have multi conditions am 75 and fell down the stairs twice. Reading your post and this reply to hyperca54 I can only tell you what I did, I shunned the house with it's stairs and now in a bungalow in the stick same as yourself. I note you have O2 meters which will have a pulse waveform also, probably. You say you may get a ECG - they are cheap on Amazon and easy to use. thing is ECG machines can tell you you have an irregular pulse, but AF apart knowing just what is what is not easy.

You was talking about " postural orthostatic tachycardia Syndrome.." - I have AF and VF at times and what I use is an overnight Pulse Oximeter gives readings at rest an Tacky will show up. they can be used in daytime as well obviously - oh mine has a 24 hour recorder - About £60 from Amazon, Of and you get 02 levels recorded also, They are fine, I also have a BP Meter and that tells you heart rate and whether regular or not. So the problem is with these gadgets, getting fixated, I was printing reports from oximeter daily. Every now and then or if you know something is not right is best.

You probably know all I put, just in case I am posting this as it could help.

Wishing you Barclay and your family a happy Christmas and if possible, a healthier New Year,

Thank you so much for your reply , we would love to move but we live in the most beautiful village by the sea and to leave after all these years would brake my husbands heart , we have internal stair lifts, special bathrooms, beds and all sorts of things to help plus our housekeeper so we muddle along .Our doctor is great he knows us very well and our health problems, it has taken ages to train him ( new doctors come in when old ones retire ) because Pots is quite complicated and l have this as well as ulcerative colitis, a hole in my heart, mitral valve problems, dermatomyositis, angina and more ....yes, lm not kidding !

My life is great , l have so many friends in the village , when l was rushed into hospital over 130 people contacted hubby within hours of posting it on media .....some over 300 miles away from us still wanted to help the family.

My trouble is l get frustrated because my body won’t heal fast so l can get out into the community again , l think may be my time helping others is coming to an end and lm going to have to content myself to just pottering about the house now ........of course unless they get me sorted then .......lm off zooming round the villages in my car ‘ Mother Duck ‘ quacking again 🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆

I understand what you are saying, Easy for me was from a house in a town to a bungalow in a village and a doctors on the same road, who are very good.

Like you I have multiple condition and I normally smile and garden it is so relaxing. Can't really did much so out with perenials and in with hardy palms, Works well - however the longer it has lasted, the more depressing COVID is, stopped my visits to the sea side - Hopefully New Year will bring the changes we need.

Anyway Barclay have a peaceful Christmas you and yours and a better year in 2021

As you will read below all’s gone weird here ...doctor thinks hubby’s stress from me being so ill , he then thinks my son has Gord and he’s stressed as well because they both rely on me so much for everything to do with the house. And me l’ve just worked myself to much when covid first hit cooking and feeding 35 elderly people everyday none stop for 5 months .

Ours are really well behaved , never touch the Christmas tree ( it’s mummies ) always come when called ...meow like mad outside the bathroom if l lock them out , if l let them in they then climb in the handbasin waiting for water or even better climb on my back balancing on the toilet system .......interesting position to be in at times !.

Well "it never rains but it poor's" saying comes to mind. I really hope all your lives improve soon so that you can have the best Christmas that you can. Difficult I know but try to stay positive.

Well first ...hubby’s been speaking to the doc and it appears all the stress of having had me in and now out of hospital has set off an attack of not just Fibromyalgia but ME as well which is why he feels so unwell. Then mike my sons had an ECG and all’s well so l was right it was GORD ...

Finally l’ve had a huge cold sweat again today while wrapping presents , spoke to my doctor who like me is concerned and wanted me to be seen tonight .....but l know my body and if any of my symptoms got worse l would call 999 immediately ( we live way out by the water in the sticks )

This Sunday night lm at the Nuffield having a MRI of my chest / lungs then Monday at 9 am lm having tons of blood tests again ( last lot last week )

I think they have taken me of my antibiotics to soon and that lm brewing again , at the minute l have : terrible cold sweats 3-4 times a day....trouble breathing with mouse and orchestral sounds , feeling sick great waves washing over me like a Tsunami 🌊 ...............plus lm so tired it’s crazy , luckily my temperature is 36.1 but if this rises , l stop passing pee or start getting pain all over its straight into hospital no messing about as promised to my doctor .

Mind you it might be lm turning into a rabbit ..🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰

Because all l want to eat since l started eating again after nothing for 8 days is ........salad 😋😋😋😋😋😋

Cut iceberg lettuce, coleslaw, grated cheese , fresh pineapple and lots of mini sweet tomatoes with 1000s dressing , great big bowls of it OMG it’s heaven .....*ugger the steak, the pies, stews, chicken you name it , just give me my salad and a fork .

Oh yes, and our doctor said it was so nice to hear from us all today , keeping it in the family .............he has a sense of humour like mine it seems 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It must be so hard when you are the mainstay of the family and such a shame that all you have done to help others has resulted in you being so unwell.I will keep my fingers crossed that how you feel doesn't worsen and result in you needing emergency medical help.

I wish you well with your tests on Sunday and Monday. In the meantime, your salad sounded really good. They say that a bit of what you fancy does you good and I'm a great believer in our bodies telling us what they need if we take heed.

Wishing you well xxx

My two cats don’t like dogs unless they are roast .........no seriously my two are bigger than most small dogs and fluffed up look huge , lm trying to get out of bed soon having had a very melodic night with the chest .......trees up , turkeys in the freezer , gifts now done , cards posted ( my housekeepers a gem and no you can’t pinch her ) l just wish l could get out of this house and see people , the water , the village .....we live in the most stunning part on the boarder of Devon and Cornwall...l can see Cornwall from the highest point of the village and l want to get in the car and drive ( no allowed to drive yet dam it ) anyhow l wish you and your ‘woofers ‘ a wonderful Christmas and new year .........p.s. l write books down here in deepest darkest Devon ....comedy ones and teenage vampire ones .....ohhhhhh, now that’s got you thinking !

Now i see where thw humour comes from... I have 3 large white standard poodles. But think the cats would win.. My3 are big softies.. Unfortunately im on my own this Xmas as hubby 66yrs old has beenin a dementia care home for 18 mths andmy sister died last mth. I usually takeone of the poodles.. Lola who is a therapy dog to the care home and help out. But since 18th dec last year I've been grounded with bronchiectasis and coughing blood. So ive got totake care. A walk with woofs when im able is heaven. Like u i fortunately live 3 min walk to the beach in north Ayrshire. Other end of the globe from You. Lol. In a small village with great neighbours. But missing my hubby. Who i haven't seen since 3rd March. Hard times. But hopefully we'll all get through it. Your houe sounds chaotic.. But its the chaos that keeps us going... No time to think...,have a great Xmas and stay safe. Luv Margarita and the woofs. Poppy.. Lola.. Cherie.. Happy Woofimas.

Have a purrrrrrfect Christmas with your woofers , my two Toffee Sauce and Treacle Pudding have been doing Zoomys around the bedroom tonight ....stopping dead still all fluffed up on the bed .I keep coughing and my chest noise is getting worse , but Treacle my babe thinks kneading my knees is a good cure ......mmmm, not so sure about that .

Hubby’s not to bad at the minute his Alzheimer’s is slow and steady , his language sometimes has me in fits as he changes the first letter of words and it can come out very rude !

So, lm off to hospital tomorrow for my MRI and hoping it’s not my lungs again , l’ve had a shadow on the lung ( none smoker ) and just about everything else you can get over the years so my chances or about 50-50 it’s them ...blast my stupid body !

Well hubby and l ( plus to noise cats asking for buttered hot cross buns ) are having a latte in bed on our new Dormeo mattresses ( oh heaven ) eating hot cross buns watching Vera ....what more could a girl want xxxxxxx Amelia .

Hi so glad yougot my reply. As fingers mosttimesdo what they want.. Still learning thisposting stuff.. Havnt worked out how post. A photo to this site... I also have a small shadow in left lung and also never smoked in my life. Next ct scan in 5 mths. Well.... Mrs Christmas i hope you managed to get a few of the bit's done for ur friends and neighbours. I take hubby's pressies to care home tomorrow.. But can only leave them at the door.. Not even visable access.. So i get quite down.. Especially as he cant see his dogs.. Think that would kill me.. Yes alzhemiers can be funny... But not for the carer. Extremely hard.. I had 5 yrs not knowing what he would do next. Anyway u have the family.. The cats.. And a sense of humour which h is the most important. Xxmargarita and the woofs.

You do have a lot on your plate Try to take it easier. You just can't do all the things you're used to doing at the moment, though it's hard to admit it. Been there, done that, or to be more accurate being there, doing that. Have you thought about help in the house? It would leave you more time for the important things in life like cuddling the cats. xxx

We have a part time housekeeper now , lm soused to doing everything for everyone this illness has just floored me completely and although l have my sense of humour to keep me going on the outside ...inside lm just crying .Not being able to make all my Christmas cakes for the village elderly this year, do Christmas dinner for the ones who live alone and make them laugh when l go round dressed as Mrs Christmas .....l just hope my body heals itself , with so much to do next year including a charity wedding ( l do the cake, decorations and all the main meals plus evening buffet ) not on my own l employ 2 other chefs to help me , but lm the planner and it’s all my stuff used ( l have a huge company lock up with wedding, birthday ,Christmas stuff in it )

I just love my job in the community and miss it sooooooo much it makes me want to cry , daft person but it’s what l do ( or dad and l did together for years ) and l miss it .

Thank you everyone for your kind words , l had my MRI on Sunday and am now waiting to hear from my doctor about the results, they promised to get them to me before Christmas as the noise has increased somewhat ....hence posting at 4 am as l can’t sleep again.I do hope you are feeling well , lm looking forward to christmas no end as hubby has let on he’s bought me something very big ,very sparkly and something outrageous.........owwwwwww🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Long before this all started l bought hubby a metal detector and all the bits that go with it so it’s been wrapped for ages ready and waiting , my sons gifts are under the tree as well and even my cats gift ( a thing that shoots a mouse out of holes ) is 99% ready ....just got to buy two batteries as it takes four .....opppppps .

With Christmas almost here l know many of you will find it hard this year without your friends and family around you and some of you may say ‘ why bother’ well l bother because l know my friends would be horrified if l just sat in bed watching tv all day , they may not be with us but they are all thinking of us and send their love , we have to keep faith that next Christmas will be the best ever with things going back to normal and friends and love ones back in our homes and our hearts .....with this in mind l wish you all a very happy Christmas ( my internal mice ) and l will be thinking of you all .

P.S. ....let you know in the new year what l’ve been spoiled with .
