It's just stupid people saying stupid things. Treat these speculative journalists's reports for what they are.- GARBAGEYou will get your vacc when it comes to your turn on the official list.

all am saying is the so call famous are Q jumping are they not by saying they have it on TV first

But if their influence to have it encourages others then surely that can only be a good thing? There is alot of speculation about the vaccine out there, some of it quite negative so I see any encouragement as a good thing.

I think the idea is that they will be wanting to use "sensible" celebrities like David Attenborough etc.

And if more people have the vaccine then that helps protect the Extremely Clinically Vulnerable too.

so you ok then when people push in the Q when you wanting at the bank just like these famous are

No, because that is for their own gain and I would call them up on it. The two are incomparable. One is for self gain and one is for gain of many.

If 12 "celebrities" are selected to encourage the general public to have a vaccine against a virus that has killed over 50,000 people in this country alone then I am OK with it as it is for Public Health reasons. The benefit to public health is bigger than a question of a queue jump. I'm thinking about the bigger picture. I believe that it will benefit more people than harm them because I think it will encourage others to have the vaccine and I'm certainly OK with that.

There is enough negativity on social media about the vaccine and it has to be countered by something. I'm no fan of the celebrity culture but many people are, and if that is what it will take for people to have the vaccine then so be it.

your so wrong these so call celebrities are just doing it for there own a you say gain that all nothing to do with helping other get it ok i get where you coming from the bigger picture so why not have people like me and you go on TV and have to vaccine that way we are like the one who are being ask to get it why do we need so call celebrities too go jump the Q and get there before anyone elss i mean none of them that are putting there hands up are over 80 or Clinically Extremely Vulnerable they are fit most are midd age people who if they did get the covid they could do well out of it not like the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable and the over 80 where if we get it we can die so why them then i feel they are just pushing in so they can have there big xmas party

I feel sorry for you as in my opinion that is a very narrow minded view.

It's quite difficult to follow your point as there is no punctuation, but I will try.

I believe Sir David Attenborough is in his 90s but I am happy to be corrected on that and Ester Ransen is in her 80s. Both have been suggested as people who might have the vaccine live on air.

As for me and you? I can't speak for you but the general public don't know me and haven't had decades to influence the public and build up their confidence in me. This is about "national treasures" who people look up to and respect having the vaccine in order to encourage others. Nothing else.

It's clear that we disagree on the subject and that's fine because everyone is entitled to their own opinion on things.

Bottom line, we need the general public to take up the vaccine as much as possible in order to save lives and protect the Extremely Clinically Vulnerable. I am keen on anything that will encourage the public to take up the vaccine because I am someone who may not make anti-bodies to the vaccine even if it's been given to me.

And just for the record, I don't think anyone "could do well out of Covid," as you say.

yes we do need the as you say general public to get this vaccine and yes the two you have said are very old but as there age say they would be getting it any way not need to show other they are but let me ask then why does people like Piers Morgan and Matt Hancock and other of there age getting it before the Extremely Clinically Vulnerable or are they just trying to Q jump there no need for any one to Q jump as no one is more in pronted then any one elass we all should wait and get our jab when we are need too so when then does theese so call famous people getting it fust

I can explain my opinion to you but I can't understand it for you.

Best wishes.

I’m a bit leary of the side effects of this vaccine. Thus, the more people that take it before me the better. I can learn a lot about the vaccine this way.

This is to reassure people that it's ok to have the vaccine. We need the majority of people to partake or we will never get back to normal. I know that Piers Morgan and Matt Hancock have offered to have it live on air.

Ithink Benney it was 4 celebs said they would take it first, Lulu, Esther rantzen. Can't remember the other 2.to show us not to be scared

and mayi ask are these 4 so call celebs in there 80 or Clinically Extremely Vulnerable or live in a care home or are they just trying to jumkp the Q

in reply to benney123

No don't think so .just scared .Looks like the oldies will get them first though, and vulnerable .

Bevvy profile image
Bevvy in reply to benney123

My understanding is that YES due to age possible celebrities are vulnerable due to age.Having said which just because younger celebrities are saying they will have inoculation live on tv doesn’t mean it will happen.

I get why they are saying they would have it first. But maybe we should trust science rather than celebrity .

gejay profile image

Can't help but agree with you on that Corriena , are we so child like that we need celebs to show us what to do, does anyone think that it will be a real vaccine that they have. I have made my mind up that I am going to defer for a while to see how it goes and to find someone who can tell the truth, if that means I stay in longer so be it, my body my choice.

Everyone no matter who they are should take their turn. I know they may be trying to show not to be scared but it does make you wonder. Have a lovely day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx

I saw Matt Hancock on the TV about three weeks or so ago when news of the Oxford vaccine was announced, being asked if he would have the jab and be televised doing it to encourage the masses to come forward. At that time he refused stating if he took the jab first that would be one less dose for those who needed it more than him. In the light of all the media hype on this subject some people would construe that he wasn't happy at the speed at which this vaccine had been passed by the regulators but happy for the general public to take their chances. It seems to me that he was damned if he did and damned if he didnt!

As most have posted here, I think it does depend wholly on your point of view on this subject but we do have to remember that some people are more naturally suspicious than others, there are those who have a genuine fear of needles and anything medical and do need that extra push to come forward and have the jab. If that means some specially selected recipients jumping the queue, then so be it. By that statement I mean scientists, doctors, the folk who have regulated the vaccines. To me it would show they are prepared to back up their findings in the efficacy and safety of the same.
