it Was an Amazing programme again tonight and they are even learning to grow heart muscle to repair hearts as well in the future. It's truly amazing what they can do these days and the surgeons are Absolutely Priceless. Hope you all enjoyed the programme who watched it. Take care and keep well. Brian

I watched tonight having missed last weeks programme, and it was every bit as good as I had hoped it would be. Amazing about the work being done to grow heart muscle at the moment and the lung tissue was also mentioned which is something amazing for the future

Yes it is Patsy164. I dread to think what the future holds for everyone The way the country and the world is going at present I don't think these advances will come quick enough for me. Hope you're as well as possible. Brian

These surgeons are amazing. Had me on the edge of my seat when the one lung stopped working.

Yes exactly not a panic at all from them. I would have been like a headless chicken But they obviously knew this may happen as they mentioned

I watched it too. It brings tears to your eyes to know that man may get a few good years of quality life whereas without the op he wouldn’t have survived much longer.

That tumour op had me on the edge of my seat too. I didn’t think that man was going to walk again.

It was an amazing programme. I know we’ve only seen the surviving ones and I’m sure they get failures but my goodness they are brilliant people in what they do. I was in awe.

Yes they certainly deserve every penny they get paid Mavary. Did you see all the blackened areas on the lungs they took out And the 1 lung they put in had a bit of black on it Perhaps it was just part of the blood supply. But yes it was Amazing. Do you remember the first of these programs years ago Your life in their Hands. Hope you're well. Brian

I thought the second lung looked black too. I wondered if they put the wrong one back. They did say it had been frozen for two hours so maybe that was why.

I can remember your life in their hands but can’t remember any of the cases.

I’m well thank you. I hope you are too. We’ve all got our problems but hopefully not too bad.

Yes we have Mavary. But we all help and support each other the best we can. Its just difficult remembering all the conversations you have had And who with. I am doing really well for someone diagnosed a year ago with a severe obstruction of COPD. Not on any meds or inhalers at present and still doing ok. Take care. Brian

Oh dear. I’ve only got mild things compared with most people. I’ve had mild asthma for years. I’ve had pneumonia three times in my life time and apparently TB when I was a child. The pneumonia killed the TB off. I can remember I was pretty ill and I was only about four years old. I had pneumonia when I was about nine and again two years ago. I came home from hospital an one morning passed out because I couldn’t breathe. I went back in hospital where I was diagnosed as having aspergillosis. There was a question mark about IPF but when I said about it they said I didn’t have it. I know from experience they don’t like to tell you if you have got it. My Husband died from it six years and eight months ago.

Since passing out I have been on a steroid inhaler which I’m supposed to now cut down but every time I do I get breathing problems. I’m due to see a consultant soon so am not going to bother the Dr especially how things are at the moment with this coronavirus.
