google Sheffield university copd breakthrough treatment , this was hopefully being put into trial but now probably has gone under the put on hold because of COVID 19 priorities, if we can start making noises again about the 1 in 5 in the U.K. that have a lung disease hopefully we can get research back on track , if you read up the drugs are already available.

Early days with those investigations, and to be honest having had cancer and knowing how damaging those drugs can be I would be very dubious until they name which drug they are intending as treatment.
I read another article once that research was being done to help diabetes type I with the drug alendronic acid another nasty drug. I know that drug too.
Granted not everyone will experience the dreadful side affects of these drugs, sadly not everyone will be able to tolerate them and some may even have added problems from the treatment while others could be ok and have great benefit.
So whatever we wish for, I sincerely hope it works well for all without causing additional health issues.
Needless to say I wont be too eager about taking a cancer drug myself.
Actually that was the most recent article that came up on google search and it was dated January 2020. sheffield.ac.uk/news/nr/can...
Perhaps you were referring to some other research drug.
Personally I think medicine should be focus more on developing drugs that do not cause other health issues for patients.
