When folks ask my old mum the secret of her long life (she’s ahead of you on the racecourse of life at 100 and going some!) she always says ‘It’s a sip of sherry every day!’ I can add that it’s a pretty large sip that takes place several times a day, these days with the caution, ‘Do you think I should?!’ Carers warn her she’s unstable on her feet and it might provoke a fall. She just hangs on to the many grab rails we’ve had fitted, with a smile on her face, as long as she’s had the sip!!
You old uns!! Keep going , Don 😘 , keep smiling too 😊 xx
🤣😂 She’s always ready for a chat, so you never know your luck, Don! Though the chap who lives in the flat upstairs thinks he’s first in line. Keeps pleading for the code to the key safe on her door.....just for a chat he says, but whenever let in, he can’t stop clasping her to his bosom! Frightens her, cos she’s blind now and can’t see him coming. So she says No don’t let him in...we can chat through the open window!! Then has a sip of sherry while she ruminates on past pleasures 🤣! xx
Yes, remember the sad Shergar news, just thought you might have had your wires crossed! Don’t you know I’m one of the self-appointed prefects on here....we’re getting dangerously close to political now xx
When I see you have posted, I always open it with a smile on my face. So, just now when I opened it there you were, smiling back at me! You look exactly as I had imagined you!
Thank you for brightening my day Don, I hope you have a lovely one xx
A very good afternoon to you Mr. D. & Midge. Yes ! yes ! That's a priceless rhyme if ever I've read from you .....sentimental, nostalgic and witty , so it only leaves me to say" you've given us another 🏆 Classic ". 😂😂. 🐿🌈x
Made my late evening, having spent one and a half hours on the telephone with my energy provider, I needed a bit of amusement, nothing like the "telephone hold music" to bring death forward as a welcome release.
