I was up at five am this morning for my hospital visit. I know, I know another one.... So got there early. And had my 'chat' with the respiratory nurse, which is usually pleasant. I am not sure if I was just sleepy and lacking caffeine but I found it rather trying and patronising.
It went along the lines of ...
Nurse : (Checking oxygen levels) 98 That's good. Is your oxygen on?
Me: Yes...... I should turn it off since I don't need it when sitting.
Nurse: Let's turn it off and take it again (Nurse reaches into my bag to turn the oxygen off) .
Me: I can manage, thank you. ( Moving my bag out of her reach).
Nurse: ( Taking oxygen levels again... ) Oh, it hasn't changed.
Me: Well no, as I said I don't need it when I'm sitting.
Nurse: So you only use ambulatory oxygen....
Me: Yes. We've spent ten unnecessary minutes establishing that. It was this hospital that provided me with oxygen. It is written in my notes right there under your nose which I can read from here. What use are notes if you don't bother to read them? π
And then the arthritis nurse..... who looked at my foreign looking name and assumed I can't speak Japanese or thought I was hard of hearing, or lack the intelligence to understand simple sentences. She drops to a squatting position and looks me squarely in the eyes and proceeds to enunciate every word as if I have to lip read. Even after I answer her in perfect Japanese. I will just say my tone was rather measured.
You must understand, I was a tad annoyed.
So for those of you who say I never moan and complain, here is proof that I do. Forgive me. ππ±ππ
I walked around the hospital looking like this I believe.........I hope you are having a good day so far. π΅π¨π§πΆπΈπΊ
