A little off topic but last night I saw Hugh Laurie...

In concert at the Edinburgh Playhouse - it was the most enjoyable 2.5 hours of music that I've ever had. I've been a huge fan of him since his Bit of Fry and Laurie days and as Princes George and Ludwig in Blackadder.

But it's since he played House that he's had a little more personal impact. I'd watch episodes pre-diagnosis in which he dealt with patients whose symptoms sometimes resembled my own and wonder if its what I had. Interestingly enough when my consultant told me what they thought I had it was only because I'd watched House that I'd heard of sarcoidosis. Anyway I'm sure all of us can feel a little down and yesterday was a really flat day - a hard week at work, Saturday should have been welcome but it just wasn't.

Thank goodness that the evening restored my usual good mood. He played the following last night - this clip is one from a week or two ago but I hope it all gives you a lift like it did me. I did chuckle last night when someone shouted out in answer to a question 'Lupus'!!

I loved House & Bertie & Wooster, I was so angry when they moved it to sky & I cpuldn't get it again :(

I wish I could like Jazz but just can't seem to take to it & I love everything music wise.

Glad you had great time :D

I'm not a fan of jazz at all. This was far more structured and bluesy. I just love watching amazing musicians do amazing things with their instruments. These lot were so talented - I gazed rather enviously at the trombonists lungs!

I think he is really talented in so many ways. I loved him in Blackadder.

It reminds me about Tony Robinson (Baldrick) whom I met when he was making a promotional video for the organisation where I worked. I spent the day with him and he was so intelligent, humorous and free with his time. He gave me autographs and little drawings for my step kids and told me really funny stories about filming Timeteam which had only just started. Especially about him and Phil drinking too much!

Lovely man.

They repeat it on More TV - normally on a Saturday morning :) As a kid I was sure I was either going to be the next Howard Carter or an astronaut. LOL

Oops my reply to this is below!

Growing up where I did and now do, I had a little bucket of what I thought was roman treasure when I was little. Mainly broken Victorian blue and white pottery - but I was convinced there was lots of roman pottery in there too!

That's where I got my obsession for it from.

Oh my gosh, I used to do that too - what fun I had - dirty fingers and finger nails as I gently scraped the soil away - a right little urchin :) x

It was so exciting wasn't it? This was in the middle of the countryside and I couldn't believe how much pottery was to be found in the ground!

Great fun x

So glad to hear you enjoyed your evening. There's nothing more uplifting than good entertainment to improve your mood. :)
