Hi all hope all is getting better and back to some normality went to get my hair cut 1st for 6 months.Well she wasn’t happy to be back in the salon with her mask and visa in her young mind it was the old that was more likely to have coronavirus. I was out of that chair all done within minutes and I can honestly say never had a cut like this since I was 7 and the village barber cut kids hair girls as well on a sat morning in old train carriage in his garden 6pence a trim . For years we laughed about Mr coppers hair cuts and i had a good laugh at this one it’s so funny tempted to send a pic Take care all xxx

Oh dear, that’s not good! I’m having my hair cut on Thursday by an older lady so I just hope they are ready and have everything in place.
Pete remembers going to the barbers and having a haircut exactly the same as everyone else. No individuality that’s for sure. Xxxxx
When I emailed my hairdresser she said about compusory hair wash, / masks dividers between basins and other customers.
I usually have a dry trim so I don't have to inhale hair spray and other stuff, and can be in and out quickly reduce exposure to any risk of bugs etc.
I said I don't know if I can wear a mask for that long / hair wash and cut, 30 mins, her reply was they have to wear visors all day long and its very hot, your new hairstyle could be a pony tail then.
So my guess is many are not going to be so happy about the circumstances under which they are working.
I opted to forego the hair cut (especially as there would likely be 6-8 other stylists and customers in all at the same time, even with screens and masked people, I didn't think for me it would be a good idea)
Now thinking about finding a lone hairdresser. I have 4-5 months growth at the moment.
I have a lone hairdresser & went last wk.she wore a mask and polythene apron,is only having 1 person in at a time, msg for appointments.i had my mask on even for backwash.felt v safe and she disinfects chair, surfaces, sink etc aft ea client, and changes apron.
I need a hair cut, but the hairdressers around me have all put their prices up. Will certainly have to shop around first. Have a great day and take care 😊 Bernadette xx xx 🌈
well its done now. I have done my own but it is a bit chop chop and I didn't have you pay for it. I t was very short and I was try ing to grow it but every trim turned into the same extreme style Now it is a just bit too long but I aren't go back to same man or I will be really shorn.
You cant get your hair back , but I hope you asked for your money back !!
I had my hair cut last week, I have been going to gents barbers for years as the expertise is better.
Popped my head round the door- they are not walk in any more. Got an appointment for an hours time. Barber was wearing face mask. Nice cut and only £14 😁
I am going for pony tail mode. Frankly, if it clean and out of my eyes then I am happy. Stay safe Christina
I’m so lucky to have my hair dresser
He text his regular clients
Gave me a 9am appointment.
2 stylists only in the salon.
Both has visors on.
Ihad my mask on.
I felt safe whilst in the salon..
I started growing my hair last year. Lockdown got me through the dodgy phase. Now I've got something that can go in a pony tail, or style under.
I got a 9am appointment - everything very safe- wait at the door (it's locked) temp taken- use hand sanitiser though I used my own before putting my face covering on- screens between customers- chairs sprayed after use- disposable towels and wraps- 2 hairdressers only- hairdressers in visors- I paid via my bank when I got home. I’m going tomorrow at 9 a.m., thought it would be cleanest first thing but don’t know how I’ll get on wearing a mask for two hours (cut and colour), no posh coffee, no shiny magazines and no doubt a price rise on the already very high cost......but what’s a girl to do? Haha
My hairdresser texted me to let me know she was up and running again and said she has now gone mobile. She assured me she had bought all new equipment and lots of PPE ie masks, visors, gloves and overshoes. I have been going to her for years and I trust her so, after discussion with my husband, we decided to let her come.
I washed my hair before she arrived and dried it myself afterwards.
True to her word, she was in full PPE as she said, plus disposable plastic apron for her and a disposable plastic cape for me.
It rained, so we could not be in the garden as planned, but we were in the conservatory in front of the open door.
When she had finished cutting, she stood outside and removed all the PPE carefully and disinfected the comb and scissors with a spray that had a fancy, medical sounding name.
She walked around the side path back to her car.
It was a pleasant experience for me, and she didn't do a bad cut. There were a few straggly ends at the back of my neck, but I felt that after cutting with the mask and visor, I was lucky to get away with that and I just snipped them off myself then dried it.
I was grateful that she had come! I was preparing to take the dressmaking scissors to the mop I was growing, so she saved me from that fate.
Plus, it was nice to encounter someone from 'the other side' as am still supposed to be shielding!
I feel SO much better for having it cut. It was definitely worth the risk.
