Due to coronavirus, in March the government allowed drivers who were scheduled for a MOT test to delay it for up to six months. But now, mandatory MOTs for vehicles in England, Scotland and Wales are being reintroduced from 1 August.

Your MOT certificate if you have one is still valid for that extra six months.

Yes you are right, there would be an awful lot to do otherwise, all in one day, the stations would not be able to cope.

Morning 🙂 My MOT was due early April but has been extended for 6 months; we are still responsible for making sure that our cars are road worthy though, so I have replaced a wiper blade. You can renew your MOT one month before it is due, so maybe don't leave it until the last minute? If you use this link: gov.uk/check-mot-history

you can check when yours is due.
