I’ve just read 2 greys recent update and thought I’d share mine.

A while ago 2 greys wrote recovery fatigue and breathlessness from last main symptoms takes about 6 weeks. I took great comfort from that as I had been trying to stretch what I could do. I’m now on about day 42 since first symptoms and about day 20 since last main symptoms. I could relax more and accept I had to not do too much. If I did I would end up feeling bad again.
Like 2 greys ,I have also had 3 major panic, coughing, choking fits ( first for 3 years) with loss of bladder control, and probably once a day of minor chokes. Not usual at all. I have to concentrate on sitting upright etc. But the night ones are not nice. I still get a lot of white bubbly mucus that is normal for me.
I am stronger in the morning than afternoon. For the last 8 days I get up, washed ,dressed ( got dressed for last 6 days) Potter a bit , perhaps iron, tidy, etc, sit in the garden to help my eyes, and twice have cooked lunch. After lunch I’m tired. I retire to bed, read, maybe nap. Yesterday I watched a film with Bob ( husband). I wasn’t too good later. I think perhaps legs in bed rests me more.
My eyes get computeritus, ie tired so it’s difficult to find activities. I’ve just started a watercolour painting book. I can’t concentrate to draw yet.
I am managing more but after 3 days of achieving quite a lot and thinking, definitely a bit better, collapsed again to hardly able to move with worse breathlessness.
So - am very happy to have hopefully got through this. And good luck to others in same situation. Please add your progress accounts.

Take comfort in that those intubated in ICU might take 12 - 18 months to fully recover.
I took 15 mg of Prednisolone yesterday which still seemed to help and the same again this morning, if the wheezing is still okay tomorrow morning I will try to reduce it further down to 10 mg. Fortunately with taking low doses I am not getting the "Superman" syndrome and can still take afternoon naps.
Thanks 2 greys. I’ll just concentrate on the 6 weeks for now and be glad I’m hopefully not looking at longer. One step at a time. I’m supposed to be on a reducing programme for prednisalone. In September, after lots of it, I had a reaction to stopping , could only walk 7 steps. Agreed slow reduction programme. Came down from 10 to 2mg by Xmas but each reduction , even 0.25 mg reduction gives me extra breathing difficulties for about a week. So with this covid I’ve stayed on 2 mg. I did try 1.75 mg about a week ago, but 2 days later breathing much worse so back to 2 mg. I find the change downwards affects me 2 days afterwards. The ild nurse confirmed this. Her suggestion was day1 cut down, day 2 back up, day3 cut down as day 1 etc. For about a week.
Hi jomo46 I also had it it took eight weeks I’m still with symptoms but not the breathing issues they gave me double vision very peculiar but a lot of people I know that had it use the emotional freedom technique for breathing and I said it is remarkable you can find it on YouTube and it’s free👍
It’s annoying they wouldn’t test early on, unless you went on ward. Hopefully the antigen test will show up results. Did you get high temperatures?. I wasn’t tested, but went through every symptom on the list. Dr. Thinks it prob was.

Hi Jomo
Despite the difficulty and slow recovery you are doing really well. Keep on doing what you can when you can and rest when needed.
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences, along with 2greys.
As no test ..The doctor says I had a virus but can't confirm it was Covid.. I was sluggish on the Friday ...went to bed awoke not able to breathe and with temperature ...my head really fuzzy ... decided not to go hospital unless got worse packed bag. Drunk water and more or less slept for weekend ...was really unwell. Monday chronic diarrhoea. Tuesday steroids from doctor...4 weeks on fatigue increased ... was doing 2.0 on treadmill half hour ..just started again 1.8 ...10 minutes ...and trying to build up ....what ever it was survived but it's set me back months. Just wish I knew if was or wasn't.
I have been having a slight temperature for two days running now plus a sore throat. Although concerned, I am not panicking at all. And I will just see how things go. I am very pleased to see you are steadily getting better. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and a lung disease in my left lung . Like you on days when I feel good I tend to overdo things and then I'm not so good the next day. I hope you continue to improve steadily. Take it easy. Take good care of yourself.
The sore throat and high temp. , then increased breathing difficulties Is how I started, but doesn’t mean you have it. Just be alert , but I know you are wise enough to do that. Can you get tested?
If you do get worse,, it’s not too bad you just have to accept you have to rest, and can’t do much. Good luck.xxx
