Wow how lucky are you, what a beautiful bird. Have a lovely day and take care of yourself π Bernadette xx xx π
Oh my goodness! What a sight to behold. Lovely birds but quite noisy. Xxxxπππππ
Wow I could do with a week where you live!
Good afternoon BB and peacocks are one of my all time favourites.
Not for any other reason than as a small child , my Nana worked in Torquay Zoo in the ice cream parlour. That was where, for some unknown reason, these magnificent Peacocks gathered and I would be so happy if one of their tail feathers fell near to me. I love the eye effect on these long tail feathers and still have one today. (All be it rather mis-shapen over the 50+ years!!).
Terrific photo again BB and I'm becoming rather repetitive each day now π€so, ive an idea! You need to post a really uninteresting photo and that way I can say something different for goidness sake.πππΏππ

What a lovley memory that's awakened in your old subconscious part of your brain ..
I'm glad that you still have a token feather dosent matter if its battered a bit we all get battered a bit with age ...
What a job working in an ice cream parlour especially in the 50 s all that poetry in motion grease back teddy boys queuing up with their slick looks ....
I will find something boring to post about ππππ have a cracking day mines is on the couch day of rest for my temple and that bugger above screeching from my roof π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈπππ
A friend of mine has four peacocks and loves to listen to their birdsong . well I guess it is birdsong!
I dont ever let them bother me when I hear them but when I'm having a couch day like today this one was on the roof just singing till his hearts content and my ears were aching after lol πππ
Wow gorgeous. I once got threatened by a peacock whilst on holiday in the Caribbean My sundress looked liked the patterns on peacock feathers. Well I was either threatened or propositioned π€£. Everyone turned to look. Bit scary at the time. X
They are so beautiful. But unfortunately when I was little I had my first encounter with a peacock. It shrieked at me and promptly showed me it's glorious feathers, which I was not expecting. It scared me so much it put me off them for years. This was at the Singapore zoo. I never forgot it!! But yes, they are beautiful Blackbird. xx π
I lived in a hamlet years ago where my brother in law had a pair of Peacocks that wandered around preening at their reflection in anything glossy they came across . Visitors were usually stunned to see them wander about. π
People sometimes dont know quite what to make of them wandering around ...
There are a few of them around that belong to the local farm shop they go walkabout daily and are seen on farm gates roofs just wandering the roads
One has a passion for the post lady πππππ
We have had a whole peacock saga here during lockdown. 4 peacocks who usually just wander around their immediate area, decided to take a voyage of discovery into the quiet streets. They managed quite a distance. walking all over the town and nearby villages. Their exploits were followed daily on Facebook, so much so that they now have their own page. Eventually their owner managed to retrieve them (that was a saga in itself) and they are now home again. He is looking for some peahens to keep them closer to home!
My Dear Friend has a Pack of Peacocks & Hens that live in her Garden in Spain. (Small Holding) They have just had their 2 eggs Hatch and a pair of Little brown Baby Peacocks are running around, Mum & Dad take turns looking after them as do the others. She Video's and Talks to them, it is lovely to watch. Along with her Small Goats and Rescue Dogs & cats. A few Months ago they Had Devastating Storms and all was washed away, even her House. All is now back to the original landscape, the Animals were Saved. The Peacocks Decided to come back to her. She does Talk to The Animals, They Listen. Well done my Dear Penny, at 75, She does a fabulous Job from her Heart. XXX C.
Beautiful bird! I must admit my brain read your name βblackbirdβ, saw the peacock and thought βthatβs not a blackbirdβ πππ
When my children were small we were taken to The Beale Wildlfe park by my mother. Peacocks strutting about on the loose.
Beautiful but every time a train went nearby and hooted the peacocks yelled back.
It was lovely despite that.
We settled at a table for our picnic lunch. As a treat I'd added a packet of shop bought custard cream biscuits.
We were a bit late starting to eat so breaking normal rules I gave the children a biscuit each to eat while mother sorted he drinks and I unpacked the food.
A Peacock saw his chance and stole the youngest child's biscuit much to the children's delight.
They found it so funny the promptly fed the whole packet of biscuits and a good portion of our picnic to the birds.
I explained that the birds with the big coloured tails were peacocks, the other adults were peahens. My daughter piped up with "And the babies are chickpeas!" So in my family that's still what we call them over forty years later.
Oh wheezy what a lovley memory to share with us very fond times for you I expect thankyou for sharing β€β€
