NHS coronavirus text message

NHS Coronavirus Service: We have identified that you're someone at risk of severe illness if you catch Coronavirus. Please remain at home for a minimum of 12 weeks. Home is the safest place for you. Staying in helps you stay well and that will help the NHS too. You can open a window but do not leave your home, and stay 3 steps away from others indoors. Wash your hands more often, for at least 20 seconds.

We will send you more messages with information.

I have just received this text.... my husband is in the vulnerable group and so we are both staying at home. Do we still need to stay 3 ft apart from each other? Sleep in separate rooms beds??? I’m confused and very upset right now x

If one of you is infected then probably too late now, an infinitesimally small chance at the moment. Other than that if you are both self isolating together without going out, or having visitors, then neither of you will get infected anyway, so you can't infect each other. Enjoy your time with each other, a 3 month second honeymoon. Get your food delivered to the door step and all will be fine.

Food delivery is easier said than done sadly, xxx

With the store deliveries perhaps, but the Gov. are calling on the military to deliver food, there is also volunteer help for that, Badbessie posted this list of such volunteer organisations:

Hello Hidden , 👋

Have you or your husband been working outside your home or exposed to others who may have the virus? Or have you both been largely at home and not in contact with the public? I think if it's the latter you and your husband can just live normally in your home. Just stay in to avoid any risk. Easier said than done if you have no one to help with your shopping etc. If you have to go out to shop then I would take all the precautions around him. It's difficult but necessary for now. If you go out, change all your clothes when you get home, I usually have a shower as soon as I get in, do wipe down all your door knobs, light switches, tv remotes and surfaces with disinfectant and disinfect your toilet and bathroom regularly. I use rubber gloves to touch anything like shopping and letters and spray then down. I know this all sounds over the top but I had a lung transplant and my immune system is very weak. So this is life for me everyday even without Covid 19.

It is upsetting, but this too shall pass. Not before it wrecks many lives and livelihoods. But we must just go from one day to the next and wake up every morning feeling glad we are still here to see another day. 😊🌞

Best wishes to you and your husband. 🌸🌱

Cas xx 🙋🐶

Im not severe but moderate COPD so may not receive text or letter but who knows for sure?

I have free flue jab every year so on their list.

I have a rescue packs on repeats.

Apart from recent stay at home today will i need to stay home for 12 wks too or just next few weeks?

Thoughts please?

I think it's useful to have a text or letter from the government, but also we must think for ourselves. If you have COPD and you know you are on their 'list" what would be the sensible thing to do now with a pandemic raging in your country? What do you think would be the safest thing to do? I'd go with the twelve week scenario to give myself a better chance at not contracting it. But in the end it's your call. And some have no choice but to go out to shop for groceries etc. If you fall into that category, then do what you must but don't linger. Go straight home, throw your clothes into the washing machine, take a shower and disinfect your shopping before putting it away. Keep strict hygiene rules. Don't socialize. In the end we have to look out for ourselves. Because everyone is too busy taking care of their own welfare.

Take care Janzo54 . 👋

Cas xx 😊

All the above and I suspect it’s going to be for much longer than 12 weeks. The test says 12 weeks in the first instance. We have the second wave of this virus coming next winter if we manage to suppress it with these measures. This is a society game changer

I agree totally. I'm afraid it's going to rock society to it's core. xx

Thanks Cas,

Yes i guess we dont need to be told by a letter just do what we need to do to be safe.

I havent been to supermarkets for two weeks and limited everything but yesterday wasnt able to see my daughter as planned as she wants to keep me safe anyway.

Tough times ahead but we can all support each other and get through this together.

Take care

Janzo x

You only have to stay apart if you have symptoms

Not true. You can carry the virus with no symptoms whatsoever I'm afraid. xx 😓
