Hi I have just had the text message as well. A bit suprised as although over 70 my COPD was classed as moderate at my last review in November. Has really knocked me for 6. I was isolating anyway but had hoped to escape occassionally . My husband died 3 months ago and this on top of everything else is not helping. I have great neighbours but I am usually fiercely independent. O well better do as I am told. Good luck everyone.
i thought i was on the moderate list too! maybe they send out to anyone mild, medium of moderate, sounds like coffee!!! take care, sorry to hear about your husband so sad.
Yeah I’m moderate too I called NHS 111 they said I can still carry on working if I feel ok. I’m a support worker for 6 women with learning disabilities so I’m going in tonight
Hi. I’m Moderate COPD and received my letter. I have read that ‘Shielded’ status referred to those specifically with Stage 3/4 Severe COPD. I’ve not had any exacerbations for 2.5 yrs, never been in hospital and manage very well. I don’t think the NHS had time to read individual Medical reports so everyone with COPD has had that letter. In light of this I’ve decided I can go for a short walk twice a week whilst ensuring I distance myself from others. Walking early morning is usually the quietest time. I am not going into any shops or placing myself at any unnecessary risk.
