We went out in the van today with our dogs, we know a lot of places where very few people go, but on arriving where we planned to go it was mayhem, never seen so many people there, so we went to another place and there was a few cars there but no people out of their cars, it has been a lovely day but people have gone crazy all over wales, so the message of social distancing has sadly fallen on deaf ears, i know it is the weekend and the sun was shinning, but people should realize the dangers if not to themselves but to others, very sad

At the beginning of all this, there was a really dumb effort to make everyone feel totally calm and happy. People were told “the press are being alarmist”. “No problem; don’t worry”.

What you describe above is the result.

In fact, people should have been encouraged to have a healthy fear; the kind which would keep them safe.

An analysis of previous pandemics found that large numbers of deaths could have been prevented by telling people the truth early on, when it would have had the biggest effect on the progression of the pandemic. But people were given a false sense of security and were careless.

I agree , bobbyfloyd , I have not gone out but seen photos of Snowdonia ....lines of cars.

What annoys me too, is that some people are escaping to their second homes, and so using local health provisions.

Why don't some people think ?

Other countries are restricting movement , if some people in Britain can't act responsibly then that's what will happen here I guess.

Same here bobbyfloyd. We live near to Cannock Chase. There were loads over there. Even queuing close together to buy a parking ticket. Madness. Hope your keeping well Brian

As a 78 year old resident of North Wales (English born, but came here over 40 years ago with my work) I understand your argument. However, if you lived in a city, your kids were out of school, your office was closed, wouldn't you move out to a second home you already had in a more rural area? You have been paying local council tax on this home too, and there will be less risk of infection to you and your family. There's plenty of room for all, and someone with a holiday home here probably knows of places to escape for a walk and fresh air without rubbing shoulders with others.

I agree with you Geoffu. There is plenty of room for people to spread out. Its just the way they are not social distancing getting parking tickets. The reason for visiting Cannock Chase is because its only 5 miles away. Hope your keeping well. Brian

We've been told to go for walks maybe people are thinking it's a good chance to go for walks to nice places they have always wanted to visit or visit regularly anyway. I personally won't be going to anywhere where it isn't possible to keep 2m apart. People eh?!

Can anyone reply to this question on social distancing. How can you keep your distance when queuing at a pharmacist or supermarket? No one seems to highlight this problem and what to do about it.

Our local TESCO Extra (Bangor) has lines marked on the floor around check-outs and the Customer Service desk, with a notice asking you not to approach the staff member serving you; seems to be working.

Hia I live in social housing. For old Back yard private. All us old disabled me copd lots other stuff live alone with cat & no do not have this friends family . Like a fing sorry park today I don’t have breath to scream but did today how selfish .my kitty cat afraid go out even tried pick my gdn .& my elderly nabour who died recently . Who lovely gdn . Police fine people over social distancing

Police forces in England and Wales have fined people for ignoring guidance to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Martin Hewitt, head of the National Police Chief's Council, said the UK was in a "national emergency, not a national holiday" .
