Hi Everyone, I have a question about COVID 19. I had a spontaneous pneumothorax in September last year which was treated with an operation. It was a total collapse so I was given a talc plerodesis. Would I be considered high risk? Or would I be ok to carry on working? Thank you.

Covid 19? High risk?
The best person to answer that would be your GP. There are a number of factors that would need to be considered. A telephone conversation with them would give you an answer.
Yes I’ve tried to contact my doctor, but with the current conditions surrounding the COVID 19 it’s impossible to get a telephone appointment. Thank you for the reply.
Speak to the practice manager and tell them how important it is that you get an answer. They are usually very helpful
I’m in the same boat, was told last week I was not in that category though.
Hey Dazza8. Sorry to hear your in the same boat, but by the sounds of it good news if you have been told it doesn’t fall in the “at risk” category. Was it your doctor who informed you?
It wasn’t my GP, I asked a doctor who’s a friend of the family but things were slightly different last week. He was under the impression that I had nothing to worry about because I’d had the surgery and had no issues since.
Again sorry to hear that Dazza8. Let’s both hope someone on here could shed some light on the question. I’ve tried to contact my GP but it’s impossible to speak to someone. If you find anything out then please let me know and I shall do the same. Fingers crossed we will be ok.
That’s a good question. You should call your Gp and leave a message for someone to call you back concerning this.
Just spoke to my GP who was very good and gave a detailed response that we are not in the high risk category. I’m happy with that.
