I am in the same situation and left in limbo. I do not have diabetes but have very severe emphysema. I am gutted to think that the struggle to keep working with my condition has all gone to waste. Finances are going to be hit here as well, nothing I can do about it, even at the end of this mess I will never be able to get other employment.

I am a production engineer, what is not taken into consideration is the lifetime of irreplaceable skills that are to be suddenly lost to industry. I know that my old company will now collapse as I made 50% of the work force. The new owner who is only 26 yo does not have my knowledge and skills and neither can he make it pay working on his own, even if I advise him over the phone.

The Gov. have not said anything about job protection for those that have to self-isolate for 3 months, or longer, what are they going to do. Those that are younger, but have underlying health problems, will they get sick pay for 3 months?

I do not think you would qualify for sick pay as that stops when you reach the age of retirement i thought, and stopped paying National Insurance. Would not over 70 s qualify for a state pension. Sorry if i have misread the situation.
