I went to St Luke's hospice for my first session on physiotherapy for breathing techniques, it was very interesting, and virtually similar to some of the exercises we used to do when I was scuba diving. I must admit I felt a lot better whilst I was there, but again I struggled with breathing once I got back in the wheelchair and walking back into my living room at home.

I went from sats of 98% (the highest I have ever been) down to 48% this took over 20 minutes to get back to an acceptable reading of 91%, I will try some of the techniques at home until my next appointment next week.

I know deep down that this is a short term fix, but if it extends my life by a month or two, then I might get to complete my model railway?😂

God bless to you all.

Ernie

So pleased you found your physio session beneficial Ernie, although sorry it was a struggle to get back on an even keel. Hope you find your next appointment as helpful.

Love your photo. Love model villages and railways - it will keep you out of mischief!

You certainly have the right attitude Ernie. It is a fact of life that we all have to die one day, sooner or later. Im also enjoying the benefits of regular exercise and find it definitely helps. Thanks for showing us your model railway. It liiks amazing! How long have you had this interest? My elderly neighbour started his setup many years ago. His wife is into crafts so she made all the accessories like trees, stations and people. It has grown enormously over the years and both of them thoroughly enjoy it. Their grandchildren visited regularly when growing up and have inherited their grandparents interest. Each year they set up a smaller version in the field where we have our annual Fete. It certainly draws in the crowds.

I think we all benefit by having a hobby. It's relaxing, fills time and provides a lot of pleasure.

Hopefully the recent floods haven't caused you any problems but areas of the UK are in a sorry state. Best wishes for now, Chrys x

Hy Chrys

No floods just water logged grass, looks like a rain forest out there at the moment, despite having some sunshine. Essex is God's county because we nicked it from Yorkshire.lol

Keep smiling and don't let the bastards grind you down.

God Bless

I cannot get to my summer house where my trains are, as the grass needs cutting and it's too wet to cut at the moment, but if I keep up the relaxation techniques and the physio, I might be able to get on with it, so that's why I cannot die yet, I have to much to do. Lol

Good to hear from you Ernie and glad you are enjoying your class at the hospice. My husband attends a similar one which he also enjoys.

It’s great that you have a hobby and a hope you continue to build your model railway and send us a pic when it’s finished.

Take care and best wishes
