Hello everyone, I decided after the advice on here from many kind people to ask my Dr for a referral, I had been denied this for the past year. This was a new Dr, and my goodness what a difference! he actually listened to me. After carefully looking at all my notes he said that he would refer me to a consultant, but did say, "this is really so that you will not feel as though you have been abandoned. and not to expect miracles!" He basically agreed with the respiratory nurse, There was nothing more they could do to make me less breathless.
Not good news at all, but at least I feel a bit better having been told the truth by someone I had confidence in.
Thank you all so much for your advice and support xxx

It does make a difference when someone listens and respects your view. It is worth getting the opinion of someone with more experience in the field and at least you know you are doing all within your power to get the best advice you can. Take care and best wishes.
Well done Woofly for not giving up. They should realise you want piece of mind and some help with your condition. I have also found a new doctor at my gp surgery, more helpful than the established 1s. Hope you get some help Brian
So glad you got appointment with consultan. Are you exercising? Have you been to Pulmonary Rehab? This is definitely beneficial to improve breathlessness (as well as good nutrition). Best of luck going forward.
