I don't know why you keep calling me a scallywag. Out of all the technical advances that have taken place during my 88 years, I reckon TV sets are the most impressive and least recognised as such. Do try to calm that Zebra down. xxxx

They had some excellent children programmes in those early days. Just in time to entertain my two in the late 50s early 60s. They took a real interest in it. Now it's not much better than electronic wall paper to a lot of people.
My grandchildren don't bother with the telly to busy on their smart phones or computers
I'm a child of the 50's and I can remember the first TV my parents bought when I was about 2 years old. I don't know the screen size but it was small and the children's programmes were great. I could happily watch some of them now.
Me too and Annette Mills was the first person I knew of who died. I was devastated.

You are a "life saver" with your whitty rhymes . You've no idea just how they can be a much needed distraction in the morning and for that I'm eternally grateful. They've often been able to regulate my panic breathing, just never told you before ! 🐿💕
Just catching up on posts and wanted to say that I'm sorry you suffer such bad panic attacks and wanted to let you know that I too have them come out of the blue at times. Distraction helps me overcome them too if I can find something to focus on when nothing else is helping. Awful things, I hope you don't get them too often xx
Thank you so much for your kind words and suggestions to using the distraction technique when these nasty, horrid panic attacks raise thier ugly heads☠️. So many people with COPD seem to get them especially as COPD progresses. Im sorry that you've also been subjected to them but from what you said, i hope they're not too frequent. That made me laugh. And thanks for the link. What strange looking TVs. 📺 A few years ago (not that many) a friend my parents was changing his television for a new one and asked if they wanted his current bag TV, to which they said yes please. The screen was hardly any bigger than the old style boxy TVs 📺 but the back on it was huge. Some city apartments aren’t much bigger. It needed a solid wood table to stand on to hold its weight and size. Now TVs have hardly any depth but seem to span the length of one wall.
It's a pity that the quality of most of the programmes reduced at the same rate. 😠

Hubby and I are both disabled so TV is our entertainment for the most part. We just recently upgraded to a 55" TV. I do agree with you, the available programming leaves a lot to be desired. We got rid of cable tv over a year ago. We have a few favorite shows that we watch, but mostly we use a fire stick to stream the old shows. Hubby has started watching car 54 where are you. We also watch Laugh In, and Green Acres.
Strewth! I had forgotten all about Laugh In, my all time favourite at the time. Looking back at it now it might have had more of a influence on me than I thought. 😂
