There will be people looking back and thinking of all they have achieved in 2023 but if you need to hear this ..... it's OK if the only thing you did this year was get through it.
We aren't quite there yet but I wish everyone happiness and as much good health as possible in 2024. If nothing else some ruddy sunshine would be most welcome!
Love and best wishes to you all, Carole 🥂💖

Thank you Carole. Pete and I have managed to get through 2023 but will be glad to see the back of it. At least we had our Golden wedding anniversary which was great.
Thank you Carole. A mixed year. I saw Snowdonia for the first time- from a little train. I watched the garden turn to jungle, though daughter, bless her, has been trying to keep her favourite plants going- all pollinators. My bronch is slightly worse, but I have been offered another course of pulmonary rehab. Still feeling the effects of covid- grr! Bring on next year when things are bound to get better and the sun will shine every day. 🌞🌞🌞
Thank you Carole 🙂, I needed to hear that as I seem to be able to "achieve" less and less each day. My breathing and mucus production/clearance is really going downhill at a rapid rate. Very scary and sends me into a complete panic... So thank you from me and for everyone here who struggles every day just to breathe. ❤️. xxx
Hi Patk1, yes I am but am now wondering if diet is to blame. Specialist referred me to a dietitian because I'm so thin. I usually avoid anything with dairy products in them as I think it thickens my mucus. We decided I would try eating dairy to help with weight gain. So I'm wondering if that has made it worse. Going to stop dairy for a while again see what happens xxx
Happy New Year everyone. thanks for reminding me yes I made it. That thought cheered me up had been feeling rotten I new have arthritis of the hip, so now not only do I struggle to breath I really, really struggle to walk. But as said I Made it thanks for the cheer up, Mags
If it ain't one thing it's another. I hope you cope with your hips and breathing this coming year. My husband has arthritic hips and finds exercises taught by physio a tremendous help. Perhaps seeing a physio would help you too. Referal by GP. Best wishes xx
Thanks Carole. Waking up in the morning is enough of an achievement for me these days, anything else is a bonus😀 As for the sunshine, that would be a treat indeed!
Well said Carole, I completely agree. I’ve been in bed several days with a severe chest infection. Hopefully when the antibiotics kick in I will start to feel better. Best wishes to you and everyone here. Diane x
I remember when I was first diagnosed in 2014. Hard to believe it's nearly 10 years ago. Many rough days since then but still plodding on. I hope you feel better this coming year Tina xx
Happy New Year to you both Carole, its been a pretty miserable year for alot of us, so here's hoping 2024 will be a brighter year for us all and as you say an end to this ruddy rain x
I agree and where I live the winds have been too strong to get my usual 10 min walk in most days. Can't breathe in the strong wind! I'll be grateful when they die down. xxx
Sorry to hear you havent been able to get out Nula,,lets hope this changes soon. I am a bit scared of going out in the rainy weather at the moment as its really slippy and dont want any problems with this new hip, so have been a bit housebound which is driving me potty x
Thank you. Yes must be very scary! Lady in my road had her hip replaced and now she's recovered I see her walk by my flat every day with her little dog. So everything crossed for you 🤞🤞🙂xxx
Carole your post gave me a smile, lets say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024 lets all try Littlepoms idea skip into 2024, we can do it at our own paceand start the new year with optimism. Happy New Year to you and your family xx
I think it's easier when you know other people out there, you should explore if it brings great rewards to your health. I'm sure they have modern health care systems in place, good luck with everything.
I have no intention of emigrating, never had a longing to leave the UK altgough I agree there are many places to explore. I have a nephew in Australia and one in Canada. Both say they don't feel at home in either country.
Many thanks Lynda. I think quite a few of us will be glad to see the back of 2023 but, ever the pessimist, hubby has just said he hopes 2024 hasn't got more problems waiting for us!
