Anyone ever struggle after pulmonary function tests?

Hi all.

Had PFT on Monday morning, found myself struggling a bit on Monday night. Both Monday and Tuesday, I walked a LOT more than I really should've and both night I was struggling for breath a lot. Same this morning - my sides and chest feel really weak. I feel like this a lot, always feel short of breath but today I am struggling quite a lot.

As of right now, I have an undiagnosed breathing issue but whatever it is, those tests have really taken it out of me.

Has this happened to anybody else?

Yes! Lung function tests are quite a workout. I always feel weak and suffer a few days of pain after the tests. I also shift a fair bit of mucus more than my normal amount.

As long as you are over this in a couple of days don't panic.

Do you have your follow up appointment to find out the results of the test?

Have you had/got any more tests, x-ray, ct scan, blood tests?

Once you have a diagnosis and get your medication sorted life will get easier.

Good luck xx

Thanks for your reply wheezyof.

Yeah, I wasn't expected it at all. Had a 6-min walking test last week and felt a little worse for where the day after but this has ruined me now for the last two days!

I'm due to see the respiratory specialist next Tuesday, so hopefully I can get some idea about what's going on.

For the walking test? I managed to finish, although I did have to stop to catch my breath about 4 minutes in.

I think it was about 550m.

Crikey, I've never managed that, my best was 300m. These days I'm excused 6mwt
