I'm about to have lung volume reduction surgery later this month and would like any information/ peoples' experiences. Bit scared, but weirdly excited about it too.

Waiting for a date for my LVRS, can't wait. Good luck with yours. Hope things go well have a great day and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx
Hi, is this for hyper-inflated lungs please?
I have been told I have severely hyper- inflated lungs, but my GP has not offered any solutions for me.
Tia
Yes. But to meet the criteria for surgery, there are several other factors that have to be considered. You need to have e extensive lung function testing to see if you're suitable. Push your GP for a referral if you think you need one.
Thank you for your response regarding hyper-inflated lungs.
This is all new to me at the moment and have only today signed up to this site, which I’m finding very helpful.
I start my first lung rehabilitation class tomorrow and really looking forward to it.
I was only asked if I would like to go on the course just before Christmas, so I was pleasantly surprised when I got a letter from them on the 27th December asking me to attend an informal talk last Friday 3rd January.
Thank you again, take care and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

I don't know if you saw an earlier posting by me but i have a proposed date for January 27th and my pre op assessment on the 14th but ended up in hospital with severe pneumonia on December 27th, they have let me out now to recoup at home but now just hoping they let me go through with the procedure as i just can't take anymore. I hope all goes well for you
Hi lovely lady, I have had LVR surgery via keyhole and it worked out well for me and def worth putting in effort via rehab course and getting yourself as well and fit as you can be beforehand. I consider myself very lucky to have been considered a suitable candidate as I know not many patients are. Very best of luck and love xx
I was not a candidate they said damage to extensive BUT I may be a candidate for the lung valves you all been using longer than US doctors liked non invasive aspect and removable if they don't help
testing to begin as soon as i am over this last bout.
I am glad there is an alternative.
