I had to decline invitations on the grounds that i would have one too many and attack the management, thankfully at the beginning of my career not many people wanted a verbal scrap at the top of a telegraph pole.
I'm still giggling Don. My friend just called in to see me and I showed your poem. OMG she said, that brings back a lot of unhappy memories! We are now talking about memories past and having a giggle together. Thanks for the memory...........
I was never a boss, but often had juniors who I had to supervise. One year the "do" ended and I had to give a junior a lift home, she was too drunk to drive, and had to roll her out of the car and into her flat. I wonder if she realised this was not the best way to endear herself to someone, when she had only been in the job for one week.
We had one manager who used to say, 'What's said and done at the party stays at the party.' and she meant it too as she liked a good drink and often spoke out of turn! xx Moy
