Intravenous antibiotics

Hi everyone I've just finished a two week intravenous course of antibiotics. I had the line removed last week. Whilst I do feel a little better I feel that I am going downhill again. I was just wondering if this is normal and if anyone has had a similar experience. My R nurse said it would take a couple of weeks to fully recover but I'm surprised that I'm not feeling so much better and kicking my heels

Just wondering what bacteria you were growing, as some take longer to get over but if you feel you are going downhill, I would get another sample put in.

Hope you feel better soon.

I agree putting another sample in would be best, have a good night and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

Hi

I was in hospital in June and had IV antibiotics for two weeks, like you. My chest felt so much better after the two weeks. However, I felt very breathless for a further two weeks until I stopped taking the steroids I was prescribed. Go back to your GP/Specialist now and take a sample because it’s so easy to go down hill very quickly. Good luck

I would definitely put another sample in. Pseudomonas is known for hiding in corners and creeping out again when you are not expecting it. Could be you need to take preventative measures.
