Hello, it's my first time posting on this forum. I'm 44 and had open heart surgery 6 months ago to replace an infected, defective valve. I'm almost back to 'normal', but something came up on a chest CT scan the other day.
Does anyone have knowledge or experience of this? It's a 'borderline in size, 1.0 cm, right hilar lymph node of uncertain significance'. My cardiologist has written to my GP, who will decide whether a respiratory referral is needed. I haven't had a chance to talk to my GP yet.
I'm 44 and smoked until this year. I gave up before my heart surgery. I smoked about 20 rollups a day. My heart disease wasn't related to smoking or lifestyle in any way, it stemmed from a congenital defect.
I'm worried about cancer, of course. Could this be a sign of cancer? I've learnt a lot about the heart in recent months, but I don't know much about lungs, so I thought I'd see if any of you here could share some knowledge with me. Thanks for reading and best wishes to all, Cathy x
