Forgive me if this question has been covered but I can't seem to find any posts on it but I am a bit of a novice on the net
I am fighting for PIP award I have ILD plus arthritic problems they have awarded me low rate care so I'm now waiting to go to tribunial.I used to get full mobility and middle care on DLA am I expecting too much now with the new benifit does lung disease not count anymore or was I as I think wrongly assessed I will add I get ESA on the support group as I was assessed 3month ago and classed as unfit for work .
Thanking you in anticipation

No dieases or illness counts when it comes to dwp ... it’s how your condition effects you that is important to list
Dwp try to paint picture of having good days everyday AND most will agree they are very far and few between.
Hello Kakariki, please call the BLF Helpline (03000 030 555)and ask to speak to Biddy, who is our Specialist Adviser on benefits. I'm sure she'll have some good advice for you.
Hi pip is very different from dla as it not what illness you have but how it affects you. The criteria is tricky and if you don't understand how it works then you won't get it x
Unfortunately the DLA/PIP phase over is not a 'like for like' process, as the criteria for PIP is different to DLA, particularly the mobility component. However, even taking this into account, the process is difficult and in many cases seems unfair.
You already know this I'm sure, but the thing to remember is ESA and PIP are awarded for very different reasons. ESA is addressing your work capability, whereas PIP doesn't touch on this, and looks solely at how you're affected by your condition from a mobility/care perspective.
As Annienel says, I'd be happy to chat about this if you want to PM me your contact number so I can call you. It's much easier to discuss in 'real time'.
Plead your case dont give in are you housebound or suffer anxiety or panic attacks. I have copd told them I'm on oxygen. And i asked as because of breathing problems my anxiety kicks in and i have panic attacks. They sent a lady to see me. She was good showed all paperwork fro doctors about conditions keep pushing maybe get someone to be with you as often they can mention something about your condition you may not have thought of. Dont give in. They do like to say No. But dont give in they think we wont be able to think for our selves . Maybe go to age concern or cab they are often helpful even on here speak to administration they may have someone you can talk to about it. Ps.dont forget to order your blue badge it's a help being able to park closer to the shops. Good luck dont give in.
