Sorry I can’t be of any help but I’m interested in any replies as I happened to stumble across these today. I might give it a whirl as it’s not too expensive.

Hello, Yes, I bought a salt pipe about three years ago. I don't feel it really helped in a big way, but it did clear my nose so certainly didn't do me any harm either. Salt has always been useful, and has many uses, gargling for a sore throat for example. Salt air was always suggested to clear your head and the sea air was thought to be helpful to aid recovery after an illness. They are not expensive to buy and regarded as a natural method of clearing mucus so why not give one a try and let others know how you get on.

I use one when I have a cold or sore throat as it seems to help shorten the infection time.

I tried one but didn't like the salt taste - I should have realised that would happen but I'm not very fond of salt anyway! I did try one session in a salt cave and thought that really helped me but the nearest one is about an hours drive for me so I haven't been back. Good luck with it if you decide to get one.

I bought one last year and find it really useful. It loosens my mucus and then I do my general chest clearing exercises. I use it for about 5- 10 minutes and I often find globules of thick mucus rise up my throat as I use it

. For me it is really helpful.

Best wishes joanna

I bought one but didn't find it helpful so stopped using it. I have a friend who swears by hers though. Guess we're all different! xx Moy

Yes I have one but it doesn't help, inhaler makes an interesting ornament though.😉

Get your reaction to saline/salt checked with your respiratory team. It was discovered while I was in Hospital that saline in a nebuloizer or salt pipes or lamps actually reduced my breathing ability by 25%. I seem unusual as most folk on this site claim beneifts. Best to get it checked.
