Clinging film.

Cling film, cling film,

What useful stuff it is

Except that trying to use it

Can send you in a tis

Cling is what they call it

And cling it certainly will

The trouble is it loves itself

And it's duty won't fulfil

It clings to itself so tightly

You cannot find the end

Then it cuts your finger

And sends you round the bend.

At last you think you've sussed it

And pulled out quite a length

But it's only half as wide

Good heavens...give me strength.

So now you have to find the point

At which it all went wrong

Or put up with half the width

But very very long.

Morning Mr.D and it's ☔raining 🐱's and 🐕's ........ miserable start to the day so your Cling film rhyme has cheered me up!😀. You're correct, once you do the initial unravelling of the stuff you then have to negotiate tearing it and that's when I loose interest. There must be a simple answer to controlling this untamed beast😈?

in reply toSquirrelsHolt

Mr Google says keep it in the fridge, I'm going to try that. 😉

Oh yes, the fridge could be our saviour! How interesting! It's like doing an experiment ( you can see my life is so dull,I can get excited about placing my c!ingfilm in the blinking fridge!)

It will be good to see if it makes the tricky film more manageable?😕

in reply toSquirrelsHolt

I'll have to buy a new one I only have mangled ones. 🙄

Don, what a great sense of humour you have, you cheer us up when posting these funny ditties that apply to all of us. It has put a smile on my face this morning which after such a painful night I thought nigh on impossible x

Don't start me on that wrapping stuff

It really leaves me out of puff

And as to the wonders of tin foil

It's enough to make my blood boil

Good morning Master Po,raining for a change i see :)

Grasshopper and a cat in a box x

in reply toskischool

I don't find foil a problem

It comes out nice and straight

Unlike that flipping clinging stuff

It's that I really hate

Morning Grasshopper & cat. I reckon we'll all be developing webbed feet eventually.

Oh that’s so funny Don! It reminded me of a time Pete tried using the cling film and got in such a muddle I had to bin it and start again. He’s not allowed to touch it now. Lol. Xxx 👍😘

Cling film, foil I can cope with 'just about' - but technology 😫😖😡! I'm no longer allowed to 'like' a post - if I click to 'like something' it says 'unlike' and all the previous likes (by other people) disappear. I'm allowed to 'like' some replies but not all, only it's not immediately obvious as all 'likes' are accepted initially - but some only momentarily😖😟. It's happened before but then the previous likes always reappeared and I didn't have a problem getting any 'likes' to replies accepted. Maybe I should put my iPad in the fridge - what d'ya think🤔😄😄

Yes but what about the fridge?😂😂😂

skischool in reply toMagpuss

No chuck it in the freezer and keep it on ice for a while,it will LIKE that. :) x

You will soon be a very likeable Queen Mags :) x

in reply toMagpuss

We've been through this 'like' business before, Magpuss. Sometimes (I think it depends on what gadget you're using) when you click on a 'like' the text turns into 'unlike' in case you want to change your mind you can click it again. Otherwise just leave it and move on, your like will have been actioned.

PS. Don't put your iPad in the fridge, you might get it confused with your clingy film.

Yes, I remember but I don't understand the inconsistency - it went back to 'normal' for a while - where 'like' was accepted and no 'unlike' popped up, just as it used be. Sometimes I think techi things were designed to drive us all mad.......and looking at the world as it is, I sometimes think it's working 😜😜😝😣, though not quite well enough for me to get confused over cling film and iPad.............yet!😄😄

in reply toMagpuss

Ah! Trying to understand things...........that’s where you are going wrong Magpuss. 😜

Your rhyme make such funny pictures in my head. Got another chest infection, so sat here feeling sorry for myself, but you cheered me up. My sister once ointmented my dry Eczema prone skin and wrapped me in clingfilm. thinking I would absorb the moisturisers better...nope, just overheated.

No cling film in my house! I'm sure that stuff has a mind of its own. It just goes into strings. Cling film free since '93 is my motto 👍

in reply toHungryHufflepuff

Ha ha, it's no good advising you to put it in the fridge, it's probably warmer in there. 😉

You have the same problem as me Don 🤨🤨🤨x

Keeping in the fridge does help in controlling the stuff. It takes the clingieness out of which seems to me to defeat the whole object of buying it in the first place.🤔
