Climb up the staircase

Search high and low

Follow every byway

They're up here I know

Climb up the staircase

Look everywhere

Follow every rainbow

'Till you find them there

Those specs you will need

Before you can see

Every day of your life

For as long as you be

Climb up the staircase

Look under the bed

That is where you'll find that

They're still up on your head.

Good morning Mr.D. and I'm rather peed off coz I've had to send this to you twice because of "technical problems". Not a problem unless, like me,its a blinking miracle that my shaking fingers hit the right letters, lol !

Anyway, back to the matter in hand and it seems as though we've got aliens watching us as I've been looking for my expensive,Poundland ,1920's, look not alike, glasses for about 45 mins, only to find them hanging from my top button on my 1940's ,old granny style dressing down...oh I mean dressing gown!! So it seems that these aliens just want to confuse us and its they who misplace our trusted specta les,not us!!

Fingers crossed, this time my reply will be accepted. Hopefully we will have some sunshine this weekend and that would brighten my mood for starters. Hope you are able to have a good weekend with Midge,Dolly & Scarecrow Sally!!

Terrible when you cant see without them and then try to find the little escape artists. Roll on the day when you can have your lenses changed and you wont need them. And mine is a 10 from Len ha!

Thank you 😘

Crawler! :) I must admit I never lose my glasses - ever - coz I have a foolproof method for remembering where they are. First of all you have be as blind as a bat from the age of 10 and wear them full time. I developed a rigid set of rules where they go and never deviate from it. It has long been automatic. I based this on the principle that I could never see to find them again.

Even now when I had my eyes done by laser back in 2005 and now have good sight I never lose my reading glasses! Habit. x

Ha! yes must admit I do the same, but I do have a spare pair now, just in case lol x

I have a pair from the Pound shop I keep in my handbag as don't want to risk damaging my prescription ones. x

My mum buys her glasses from Poundland, by the dozen, the idea being that she’ll have a pair in every room. Somehow the glasses all seem to migrate so she has a whole lot in one room and none in any of the others 🤓

in reply toHungryHufflepuff

That makes me wonder just how many rooms your mum has in her abode. Sounds like a Posh Mum to me. 🙂

😄 Yes I should have said at least one pair in every room. 🏰

Glad not just me, also glad I live in a fairly small flat, so not too many places to search. I do not usualy know they are lost, until I am sitting comfortably and just turned on TV (do not need for reading/writing/close work/cooking). Was it "Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy" that had the planet where all the lost biros lived, or was it the 2nd. half of pairs of socks?.....For some years I thought I had early dementia, until a very good psycho-geriatrician I worked for, explained, that loosing my car keys was not a sign of dementia, the problem was when I had them in my hand and did not know what to do with them!! I have never known which is worse, being demented, or being told you are just plain stupid!!

Better to find them on your head than under your foot! You can lose things for weeks on our patterned carpet, inherited from previous owners. your rhyming skills know no bounds Don. Love Iris x

Ha ha brilliant !

Years ago before I could claim old age as an excuse I set off in the car for work . A mile up the road I thought oh no I’ve come out without my specs ( I needed them for reading). Drove all the way home only to find they were on my head all the time. Since then I’ve done so many crazy things including putting 2 contact lenses in the same eye!

It can only get worse.

Mind how you go, Don.

Love

Corin

I'm going to dedicate this ode, with your permission, to my wife, she laughed out loud but then agreed that she is often in this position having searched high and low for her specs.😁

It happens trouble is I can't see to find them. 😄🤔X
