First time up here for a long while. Third highest point in Leicestershire. The view is brilliant on a good day. Bit of a climb up to the trig point but well worth it. Spent every summer up here as a kid swimming in the old quarry. Not allowed anymore.

Managed to get to the top of the hill.
I wish I had been with you. But then again you can run and I'm not up to that yet
I only run for short distances downhill. No road up to the top last half mile is just a gravel path. Where I live it's up hill or down hill and very little flat. Wish you could have joined me.
Same here, it does not matter which way I go, it is uphill first. Ahh run downhill, your on, but watch out the flaying stick, I can leave Sharon standing, downhill, with a controlled, 3 legged fall, that's not far off from running is it?
I would pay to see that...lol..Benny Hill comes to mind..sorry just trying to picture it in my head.
Well done, BB - fantastic achievement.
Good morning Badbessie,
That is indeed a lovely view, I have walked up there many times but not for a few years now. It takes me all my time to get round the outwoods which is pretty flat on quite a few walks.
I live near the outwoods in Loughborough, we are very lucky to be surrounded by beautiful countryside . Like you I'm nearly 58 diagnosed with lung disease, IPF 18 months ago then fibromyalgia 3 months later.
I try to stay positive and do a little excersise usually walking my Newfoundland cross girl who because of her size and age goes about as slow as me.
Have a lovely day and enjoy the sunshine, Linda
My great English mastiff cross is too old now to be walk far so I take a a short walk and then go out again. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia two years ago but since my last hospital admission where I had a massive dose of both iv and oral antibiotics over a month my symptoms have gone. My Rheumatologist is unable to explain it! I love going to Bradgate park its a lovely walk from the ruins to the Newton entrance. Another nice walk is Thornton reservoir. I can just about get round it now and its fairly flat. My grandson loves it. Take care
Hello ladies, I'm from Loughborough too 😊. Not too fussed on the town but the surrounding countryside is lovely!
Sadly one of us is not a Lady...lol...Bessie is my dog who as a puppy was not the best behaved animal that I have taken on!
G'day..., cats are like that as well; my calico caused me much consternation and dismay a a youngster and even up until a couple of years ago when she began growing into her advanced age of 11 human years (apprx. 60 cat) and is now much more sedate..., like Bessie appears to be. She still enjoys a bit of rough house now and then but is generally much more pleasant companion.
