Hi - I'm using a concentrator 24/7, connected by enough tubing to allow moving around from room to room, but the tubing twists and kinks quite a lot, and I worry about the flow being blocked - anyone else having this problem, or have any advice?
Concentrator tubing: Hi - I'm using a... - Lung Conditions C...
Concentrator tubing
The NHS most probably supply the cheapest tubing. If you look on line there are various ones and some a lot better than others.
I've had mine since the beginning of January and had the same problems plus getting it shut in the door 😞 but I've learnt that the oxygen still seems to get through ok babe 🙂 thank goodness 😊 I've been given the green tubing and it seems fine 🙂 good luck x
Hi davym, I have the white/clear tubing and don’t have any problem with it. Mine was supplied by my oxygen supplier and seems to be pretty resilient to all I throw at it including the the odd chew by the cat! I find the green, as used in hospital, not very good as kinks and flattens. Good luck. Joy.
Your oxygen supplier should fix it to the skirting boards around the room to various places and leave enough loose so that you can move round the rooms. They fit a small switch box close to the concentrator so that you can switch it to which ever room you are going into. They won't put an outlet in the kitchen because of the cooking! I just rang the oxygen company (Air Liquide) and they came and did it. Keep smiling

Mum has 24/7 oxygen and for ages had 1 tube from the concentrator that was long enough to get anywhere in her flat. And probably halfway down the street.
It was such an obvious hazard but Mum being Mum would not listen to me until she tripped over and went to hospital.
Then I got the very good oxygen supplier to route tubing all round the walls of her flat with different outlets in different rooms. So all she has to do is turn a dial by the concentrator to feed the rooms outlet that she needs. So the only trailing tubing is enough for that room.
Not sure I explained that very well; ask your oxygen supplier it’s really very easy and safer.

May I ask where you get tubing that is that long. It would be great if I can get to the downstairs loo still attached 😉
Start with EBay?? I always do for everything. Or just Google oxygen tubing. But I would not recommend long tubes and stairs. Sounds like a great way to fall down the stairs.
Not sure what the best thing to do would be. I bet someone here has a
good solution.

Hi CyprusPat, my oxygen supplier installed the concentrator with very long tubing. I can get into my garden shed, dustbins, bird table, car boot and half-way down my garden. I didn't ask, it was just provided. By the way, my concentrator was installed in my kitchen! Joy.
Yes I have it attached to the skirting board Air Liquide did this for me I had to ask tho....it's bonkers that you drag a tube around with you.
I can’t work out how this works ‘fastened to skirting board’. I use oxygen 24/7 and I’m bobbing about all day from room to room how do you manage to get about? X
Hi Joy, The Tubing is Fixed so you don't trip over it, Mine has a Dial in my Hall to switch it to "Bedroom" or Living Room, (I also Have a Mobile for when I go into the Garden). I have this fixed to Door Frame & Skirting in my Bungalow, Though I did have a House with Stairs and the same applied there. Air Liquide are very Good and explain it all. I have mine on 16/7 now, it was 24/7. Take care and don't trip up. xxxx
