I don’t know about your oxygen concentrator tubing, but throughout the day, in and out of rooms, and up and down the stairs the tubing gets very twisted up and the cannula tubing gets twisted enough to feel it is strangling me. Aaaarrrrgggghhh
Today the oxygen technician came to service the concentrator and low and behold he has fitted some anti twisting ‘things’ into the tubing…in fact two of them, so it should prevent it all getting twisted up now.
I never knew, even after a few years on oxygen that these devices even existed. Life just got a little easier.
If you don’t have them and fancy giving them a whirl then ask your oxygen technician about them next time your see him/her/them.
Go well,
Pauline

Yeah, the sunshine has been a wonderful bonus as well as dry air for me & dry streets for Lola. Bliss. One of these days I'll drive over to Leaf for coffee and a mooch, must pretty up the garden ready for spring sale. Will let you know when. Take care ×× 🤗
I only use a concetrator for resting oxygen and have small cylinders for ambulatory at a higher dose. I have always found the technicians very knowledgable and helpful.
Hi Pauline, I'm pleased you've got the anti-twist gizmos, they are brilliant. Mine were fitted as part of the initial installation about 10 years ago. The company was Air Liquide. Really good, strong opaque tubing that stays flat, anti-twist things and fire stop breaks. Good service for years then BOC were made the suppliers. They came in and brought new thin, green, curly tubing - absolute rubbish. It wouldn't lay flat, sticking up, curly forever tripping over it and it would kink very easily. Luckily the engineer didn't take the old tubing and I kept it. After my husband and I both almost breaking our neck tripping over it, I replaced it with the original.
The engineer has been several times since and not mentioned it, he would get an earful if he did.
When ever we go on holiday (in this country) and I request delivery of equipment, I always take my own tubing with me as the green tubing is usually delivered.
Exactly my experience with British Oxygen. I'm on my third supplier and B.O. are the worst by far. The 1st supplier were brilliant, Air Products, and Air Liquide were decent after an iffy start, but B.O. live up to their acronym! They don't even have the decency to phone ahead and agree a convenient time. The reality is they put in the cheapest tender for the contract and this government snatched their hands off.
Yes, I agree. B.O. are rubbish. They send a text the day before to say the engineer will be with you to perform your requested delivery or service. Last time I didn't even get that, just a text to inform me theengineerwas about an hour away! I didn't request anything and what use is a text that day? They come to service the equipment, which is good, but a bit more notice would be better. I'm not always just sat at home 😠😤Rant over 😄
Air liquid are fantastic! My supplier is currently Bay water but we were on holiday last year and air liquid supplied all the tubing so we were able to brin it home with us. So much better 🙂
Their standards are slipping now. They have a new contract here locally to provide a 24 hour service with the same amount of staff who are of course now very stretched! There are often delivery failures which is is irritating.
All the companies differ don't they. ? Air Liquide have been coming to to me for 7 years now. only in the last two years have I needed the static concentrator. Baywater were helpful on holiday in Wales last summer, but in a limited way.
Pleased you are happy with the tubing and twist free tubing, enjoy.
That is brilliant Jackie, I had no idea these anti twist things existed until nthey were fitted this week. I have had the static concentrator for 2 years and no one mentioned them.
Hi Pauline I know the feeling that always happened to me. It got on my nerves -especially when it gets stuck underneath the doors
I had the technician put those sorts of things on my concentrator both upstairs & downstairs & its a lot better- it still sometimes get a little bit twisty but nowhere near as bad
