After 14 months wait today I travelled 30 miles for my assessment. Seemed to be going ok until the 6 minute walk thing, after 20 yards my af went crazy. Travelled back to my g.p. and there was an appt. He has tweaked my meds and hopefully start the sessions on Monday. Quite looking forward to it really especially more Info about bronchiectasis, him indoors says we'll have jet lag for the next 6 weeks(and mileage on his car) but I'm definitely going. Have a good weekend folks. Jane

Pulmonary rehabilitation
Good for you Jane,i hope those med's sort out your AF and you can carry on with the course and even if you don't feel any better afterwards it will have been like giving the car a good de-coke so at least you or the car will have been a winner.
Ski's and Scruff's xx
I’m sure you will enjoy it and it will do you good. It did me! 😀
Good luck on Monday Jane. You sound very determined and I’m wishing you well. Xxx 👍😘
Wishing you all the best for your course and I hope the travelling's not too tiresome.
This is very good news Jane. You sound so revved up and ready to go! 😁 Good on you. *BIG HUG* xx 😘
I'm still doing mine Jane, Love it, The Educational Talks are very Good, We had Bronchectasis & other Type Lung Diseases Talk Yesterday, even though I'm on my 6th Course, never ceases to amaze me how The Research improves and we receive those Benefits at Rehab. Enjoy Hun. Love n Hugs XXXX
Keep at it. I have just finished mine. Waited 12 months. Well worth it lots of info. Pity so far away. Mine was 7 mins by car for a change👍
Thats a way to go Jane, but if you have a car then why not. Anything that improves your health is worth it, good luck x
Hello Jane. I am sure u will enjoy it. Made me feel a lot better and I have now been going for nearly 2 years. After the initial 6 weeks on the NHS they do a maintenance course where I go, you do the same exercises but I have to pay for it. I think it is worth it. You meet a lot of people in a similar boat to you and the people who take the classes are very helpful. You also learn a lot about all things relevant to ur condition. Hope u enjoy it. Best wishes, 👍🤓
Hi Roysieboy, good to see you. I hope you and your garden are doing well 🌸🌼💮🌷
Ok this end thank u, hope the same goes for u. I tried to post a picture of the garden the other day but it wouldn’t have it, will have to try again. Thank u for asking. Watch this space. Hope ur keeping well. Best wishes. 👍🤓
Bits of me are fine as Don would say 😊 I will look forward to seeing a picture of your garden. All best wishes to you too 👍
PS I just bought a whole lot of pansies and petunias (do I mean petunia?) I know it’s cheating to buy ready grown flowers but I’m going to put them on my windowsills. There’s something very uplifting about looking at flowers ☀️
Hi Jane, I am new here. I have COPD and I am going to be assessed in August for Pulmonary Rehabilitation and I also have to travel 30 miles out of town for this, can't we get any help with travel? and can you tell me more about the test.
Hello Tony and welcome. The test consists of walking certain distance’s and exercises. They c how u do at the beginning and after 6 weeks they test u again to see if there is a difference. You meet nice people and the people who run it have got time for u. Hope all goes well mate. Best wishes 🤓👍
If you were referring to the six minute walk test they basically connect you to on oximeter to measure your oxygen and pulse and then you basically walk back-and-forth for six minutes at a pace you’re comfortable with so they can get an idea of your level of physical fitness as well as whether you your oxygen drops with exertion and that way they can set up a program that’s tailored to your abilities. At the end of the pulmonary rehab course I believe they will have you do another six minute walk test to see whether you can walk further or not, but I’m not from the UK so perhaps it is a little bit different there
Good luck.
Who's more important, you or the car! Tell him is an investment in your future health. All the best on Monday.
good luck
