I haven't an appt with your consultant but I go to wythenshawe and my doctor is called Professor Jones and he is lovely and so are all the staff I have come in contact with, have 2 more appts coming up, 1 for an noninvasive ventilation assessment (not a clue what this is) ๐ฏ then see Professor Jones on the 24th June, even though they are lovely I get so scared on each appt!!!
Hope yours goes well, let me know ๐๐
Hi Diane, yes I get very scared as well are you on tablets..?
I'm on a nebulizer, 2 lots of inhalers and perminant antibiotics 3 times a week and also I am on home oxygen, what about you xx
At the moment nothing, I have been on inhaler steroids and antibiotics but I stop taking them when the bleeding stops xx
Have you been to wythenshawe before? It's a big hospital, really good one though, had a few dealings with them some years ago, had my 2 surgeries there when I was 6 then when I was 18 and they were brilliant back then xx
No this is my first time, I am from the Midlands so it is a bit of a journey xx
Good luck for tomorrow and please try and let me know how you get on, if you dont mind me asking what is your diagnosis or do you not have one yet? xx
Thank you, I have had double pneumothorax in the past,Emphysema scarring and aspergillosis with two cavityโs how about you..? xx
Multiple pneumothorax on both lungs which had to have surgery for, bronchiectasis, mild pulmonary hypertension, lots of scarring due to all damage and infections over the years, if I was a car I would have definitely have been crushed by now ๐ฏ lol xx
annieb2013 Professor Denning is the lead consultant for Aspergillus in Wythenshawe which is our centre of excellence for lung disease in the North west.
Although i have not met him personally the entire team at Wythenshawe lung centre are exceptionally talented and caring people and you are in very safe hands.
There are several places of refreshment on site and a friends of the hospital tea bar in the clinic and if you have a blue badge please take that as parking is also free to holders.
Good luck for your appointment.
Ski's and Scruffy x
You'll be in good hands, my mum is regularly seen in the clinics, unfortunately the process to find out with a long term cough is a slow process, however saying that the hospital did major surgery on her for the flesh eating bug, saved her life at the sprightly age of 80! And it must run in the family as they saved my life when visiting from Scotland, I had an internal bleed, and was soon back on the road to recovery, hopefully you'll get treatment sorted out and you'll be another satisfied patient, good luck.
