Ground Glass.: Hi.I have been told CT... - Lung Conditions C...
Ground Glass.
Hello,
This really is a question for your consultant.
I'm not sure, however my own CT scan showed hundreds of little white fuzzy flecks all over my lungs and in my case it was a small airways disease called bronchiolitis obliterans. Of course your 'ground glass' could be nothing like this. Now other people my have had similar results for different lung diseases, I think it's best that you contact your doctors/consultants/respiratory nurses and get the real answer.
In the meantime just follow general advice for lung problems : eat healthy, small meals, gentle- moderate exercise, pace yourself so you are not over tired, try to keep away from known infections (friends or family with coughs and colds), if you smoke please stop now and ask other people not to smoke near you.
I hope you get your answers soon.
Try not to worry xxx
Hi weezy.Thank you for taking the time to respond.Iam awaiting another ct scan for consultant to get latest images last scan in November.I have been in awful pain since March 2018 and still waiting for diagnossis.Consultant going on holiday so i dont see him until end of July&iam worried because i need to know why all this pain!!.You take care and have a good weekend,Regards Pat x.
I have had ground glass on CT scans but doctors have not commented on it to me.
These type of findings can have many meanings which a consultant needs to explain to you. A quick explanation could help to put your mind to rest. Hope you hear soon.
A simple Google search brought up this.
In radiology, ground glass opacity (GGO) is a nonspecific finding on computed tomography (CT) scans that indicates a partial filling of air spaces in the lungs by exudate or transudate, as well as interstitial thickening or partial collapse of lung alveoli.
