Hi, you need to go see a very good pulmonologist ( I saw an oncologist pulmonologist). I had a GGO (ground glass opacity). Well, the specialist didn't agree with the radiologist & thinks the spot is a bit of inflammation or infection. Rescan in 6 months. Good luck.
Guess it depends on who you ask some doctors say scaring others might say fibrosis IF the going to re scan you sooner than later I would side with fibrosis
Two years ago I was diagnosed with the same. Had a super Doctor, then I had numerous X-ray’s, had the pet scan as well as the ct scans.
It was confirmed I had a small lung cancer. My doctor went through what can be done. We discussed operation, nothing, ( just to keep a check every 3 months) and lastly a Steriotacted ablation radio therapy.( probably spelt wrong sorry)
I had to go to the Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital at Liverpool, I was given the choice of staying for the treatment or travel every other day, I opted to travel. It was very tiring but best for me.
I now have regular scans 3 monthly and see my consultant 6 monthly.
I am now in remission. So. enm 1 sg I wish you well
It's very hard .I think doctor neglected the diagnosis as they have old CT scan showing scarring but did not do anything to cute and just keep on treating for asthma
Questions :are you feeling better after radio therapy
In answer to your question enm1sg yes I am feeling better, though I was so very tired after it, more so than the normal radio therapy. The stereotactic ablasive one is more intense. But yes at this moment in time I’m good, I get regular scans. Let me know how you get on. Take care hugs coming your way. xx🦋
That's a very good explanatory post. I had similar problem in 2008 spent two years visiting the cancer specialist for routine checks and still have lung scarring fortunately it turned out not to be cancer in my case. Best Wishes.x
Hi again enm1sg, hope your results turn out for the best, I still have lung scarring plus a lung condition but it was not cancer. I now receive inhaler treatment and manage to spite my health conditions. But it still rocks me when I think of the emotional trauma I went through at the time. It has left an emotional scar that can't be removed. I hope your mind is put at rest soon and the proper treatment commenced as soon as possible, fingers crossed for you that it is not cancer. But if it is with quiick treatment you will soon be in remission. Take care xx
