Sciatica update

It's still here! It's still killing me! I suppose I've gotten to the point that all I can do is laugh. I woke up from sleep a little while ago feeling as if someone was jabbing a knife in my hip. Lovely. I sat in a hot bath, took more meds (not the good ones) and poured a cocktail, so feeling slightly better. It's nice to be able to write to all of you during the night when I can't sleep, and your replies have been welcome and comforting. So, today I called my doctor's office and told them something needs to be done. They said they would refer me to the orthopedic group at the hospital where my GP is located. Good, says I. Maybe we are getting somewhere. But I did not hear from anyone today. I'm sure many of you can relate to this: I NEED THIS NOW! NOT NEXT WEEK! Anyway, I'm trying. Orthopedic review sounds like the way to go this point. Just wish they would call. Good night all and be well. Sorry for the long post; I guess writing is therapeutic for me.

Well you have my sympathy, I've never known sciatica to go on for so long. If it was me I think I would have looked the Orthopaedic way for a solution long ago. I do hope they find a way of relieving you of that terrible pain.

It's good to know that there seems to be some progress with the orthopedic review but yes, today would be good. I hope it will happen soon and will bring you some relief. In the meantime, keep writing, we will listen 👍

Morning Hun, I am thinking back to my Sciatica Days, I have commented before to you. I was seen by a Traumatolagist for my Hip pain, though I had developed RA after a Car Accident, I had a Hip Replacement, never had Sciatica since. This was many years ago. Just a thought for you. Love n Hugs & less pain. xxxx

Thanks, sassy59 ... How is Pete doing? Better, I hope. Anybody who has read my posts might figure out that I enjoy writing. I spent my whole career -- 38 years -- at a newspaper. Sitting on my butt in front off a typewriter and computer terminal probably contributed mightily to my current condition. LOL.

Petes back is an ongoing problem and we went to Southampton yesterday which was a complete waste of time as the stimulator rep wasn’t even there. Someone is supposed to ring but we’re still waiting.

That’s a heavy price to pay for your writing career isn’t it challny. Wishing you better days ahead. Xxxxxx

Hi challny, I too suffer with sciatica, horrible pain. I have found acupuncture very good indeed. 3 sessions together with some physio and a regime of exercise and you will be good as new. You might have to be proactive and pay for your own treatment as I had an attack of sciatica in Oct and I didn't see a physio on NHS until March, next time I shall book a session or three at the local physio place. Only good thing that came out of the NHS visit was the list of exercises i can do to alleviate the pain. Take care Maximonkey
