I would like to thank everyone who answered my plea for attention!

This/these bloody diseases are frustrating and fear-inducing, my God! No sooner do you have a few minutes (& that is all it is most times! Literally minutes) free from breathlessness or oedema, or lung burning, than it starts again.

All you guys & your response to me, have been a prism of light in all these dark moments.

I realized with the swamp of replies to my cry for help, how virtually impossible it is to respond in person to all of you!

I have read that copd is the 3rd biggest killer in the U.S. behind cancer & heart disease, & yet virtually no one knows much about it!

When is the rest of the world going to wake up and see how debilitating it is.

This is a very caring forum and its good to have you as part of it. COPD is often overlooked but the British Lung Foundation is raising awareness through research so maybe one day there will be better medical treatment.

True. Sadly there has been little to no awareness spread about various lung diseases not just in the UK, but anywhere in the world. Due to which copd and its associated ailments remain either misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed till date.

Are they really ignoring it? It sometimes seems like it. But on the other hand there does seem to be new drugs coming available each year, I don't know how good they are. I understand COPD is a blanket term covering a number of pulmonary problems. I guess that's why we all differ in our symptoms and have good days and rotten days.
