This is just to let you know as from February the regulations for replacement boilers has changed . If your boiler is over 15 years old it can be replaced if you are on disability benefits, which was not so in the past. There is also an insulation programme . Contact ECO phase 3 on line to obtain the details.

Thank you for the information Katie. Hope you’re well. Xxx
Thank you for reply Sassy59, it seems we have to pay some towards it depending on the area you live in and income but much cheaper, I was quoted £750 for an A rated boiler but their call was unsolicited, so I checked up. I'm muddling on health wise, trying to move into somewhere smaller but not much luck so far. Have a busy time with doctors ect this month, but life goes on hope you are both keeping as well as can be.Take care xx
Yes,thanks for that info katieoxo60 :- it still amazes me how something as important as this, can evade much publicity.....you'd of thought the DWP would have sent out notices to anyone claiming disability benefit etc. I shall be delving through my files of paperwork to see if my boiler is 15 yrs+ old. Well done for highlighting this! Enjoy your weekend.
Hi as far as I'm aware you could always claim it but you had to be on disability payments, on the high one. I will check out the link though. x
Is this the link? x

The link you are using is good but the one I went to was phase 3 which gives the changes from this year in respect of replacing old boilers. I get Warm Home heating allowance and have done since it first started plus DLA and pension with winter fuel allowance But thats not the same as boiler & house insulation replacement for home owners.
Looks like it might be the link, I just went to my search bar and put in ECO phase3. Not all disabled have been able to get it , help or free boilers until this year when Pip, DLA and AA where added to the criteria. The rules have only just changed unless you were on things like ESA, pension credit , or universal credit, or working tax credit.
Hope you get somewhere smaller soon Katie. We are moving to a ground floor flat next week. We are renting a local authority property within sheltered accommodation. classed as independent living. Been in our house for nearly 48 years xx
I would rather have my own home , but if all else fails I will have to rent. Was even considering a mobile home, people think you can just move out without any arrangements in a matter of weeks. I have been an home owner like you for nigh on fifty years , 25 years in this house.Lot of memories not easy to throw away, but it will come together I am sure. Take care xx
