It is good.just tilt face down a bit so it doesn't run into throat.my sister had sinusitis with laryngitis and they prescribed a nasal spray called mometasone - she was skeptical but it cleared both really quickly x

If the sterile saline spray Sterimar doesn't work I'd definitely go back to gp, you may have infected sinuses and need another course of abs. I get it often and use acupressure points to relieve & loosen sinuses. Try a Googling:- acupressure points for sinus relief UK

I use a combination of Neilmed ( a sinus wash) a bowl of steam, and use Olbas oil to clear my sinuses when they are a pest, but the last resort is usually antibiotics. I can't take most of the decongestant pills as I am on other meds. I hope this is of some use, best wishes.

Don't leave it too long, if it's not cleared up get back to your gp, you don't want your sinus's infected they are really bad to clear once that happens and you could end up with a lifelong problem like me . My ent surgeon gave me AmoxyClav that helped x

Have you had a ct scan on your sinuses? It may be you need a FESS operation. It improved my sinus problems enormously. I also had pulmicort drops and mometasone spray. Both on prescription. I hope you find something soon.

This is what the outcome was for me too after many years of sinus/”back drop”/ear problems that antibiotics only managed to shift for a few months.

I had FESS in 2018 and it has vastly improved my sinuses, my ear issues as well as my chest problems (bronchiectasis & asthma)

Would recommend a visit to an ENT specialist to discuss this.

Good luck x

I’ve had 2 ops. The first wasn’t great and I was reluctant to have it done again but I’m glad I did. I have a few problems which my ent doctor put down to scar tissue. It looks like you have explored most options. In all honesty the one that worked best for me was neilmed which I see you’re already using. I did it 2/3 times a day when it was bad. If you’re not under an ent doctor may be worth asking for a referral.

I know someone who had chronic problems like this and the consultant prescribed steroid nose drops. That's sorted the issue.

Hi, sounds very much like my wife. We both had Covid 6 months ago and are struggling to get back on top form. My wife has sinus problems, so had a blood test on Monday to ceck for anything lurking therein. She will talk to our GP later today to see which antibios might be best. Take care, Chris.

And sleep propped up so your sinuses can drain.

You may need an AB to sort it. I've usually had Amoxacillin for sinusitis. What AB did you have to sort your chest infection? Have you got a nasal polyp? I used to continually have cattarh and sinusitis, particularly in my teens. When I was 45, I saw an ENT man, and he found I had a polyp. I then had an operation on my nasal cavities, which included removal of the polyp, trimming little bones at the top of my nostrils (sinepie escopens, as near as I can remember), and the making of drainage holes from my cheek sinuses into my nostrils. Helped a lot, but I understand that polyps removed by op. tend to grow back. Trimming bones increased the size of my airways.

snap. I’m doing a saline spray in the nose followed by Nasonex. Sometimes have to take a decongestant if I feel it’s getting worse again. I had a scan which showed there was blocked mucus in one of the sinuses xx

Sinus is a awfull thing I've it over 30 years I've had everything antibiotics sprays of every description sean a consultant still no resolve to it and I've had some realy bad issues cause of it even my sense of smell is effected all the time I've no sense of smell but it doesn't bother me I have found that I never blow my nose never cause it causes more inflammation I always carry hankies and just wipe my nose I have also found putting plug in sink boiling kettle tipping hot water in sink and bending over breathing in and out through nose sometimes I've done that up to 7 times a day but to be honest I've never found anythink with good results

I struggled with a severe sinus infection for 5 ½ years and tried everything without success. Then, I discovered 2% povidone iodine, and it completely cleared up my infection.

To make the solution, you'll need regular 10% iodine and distilled water. First, boil the distilled water and cool, then dilute the iodine using the formula provided below to create a 2 oz solution. Also, boil your container as well.

For the first few days, I used a 1 mL syringe to apply the solution deep into my sinuses, by tilting my head back and then moving my head around to get it everywhere in the cavity. After that, I switched to using a cotton swab, dipping it in the solution and gently swabbing the inside of my nose. But the most incredible part? My nasal polyps also started shrinking—one even disappeared completely!

I now use it as a prophylactic when I am going to be around a lot of people to prevent getting sick. Here's an interesting article about that pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articl....

Here is the formula for 2oz. You can just Chatgpt if you want a different amount

Measure out 11.8 mL of the 10% iodine solution.

Add distilled water to reach a total volume of 59 mL (which means adding 47.2 mL of distilled water).

This will give you 2 oz (59 mL) of a 2% iodine solution.

Thank you that sounds interesting I will look into it

I know it’s awful I’ve had it about twenty years, antihistamines and nasal spray use to solve it,but I think a visit to the gp may happen although I don’t really want to but I’m grateful for all the information.

My problems are nothing like as bad as yours, but I recently found an ancient Olbas inhaler, which has certainly made it easier for me to breathe through my nose. I don't know if Olbas would help you.
