Yes! Very small and being treated with high doses of calcium.

Yes, compression fractures...I take alendronic acid .

Yes two lots, now now on Alendronic acid after osteoporosis confirmed after tests.

Hi Scobbie. I’m just getting over two fractures through taking steroids for a month. I have been told I have osteoporosis very badly.

How do you get over that if you need steroids again? Will you be given it?

It’s a bit worrying when you have a lung condition isn’t it. Steroids are a marvellous medication in one way but not good for the bones. Perhaps there’s something else if you can’t have them.

I couldn’t get on with the Alendronic acid. I was sick for three days after taking just one. They put me on injections of teraparatide every day instead. I don’t like having to do it but know it’s the only thing for my bones.

No fractures yet but recently diagnosed with osteoporosis in right hip due to steroid use and now on allendronic acid once a week and cal tablets. Preds also being blamed for my cataracts and loss of hearing along with the usual skin problems and bruising.

My skin has bruised for years. Taking steroids made no difference to that. I think years of inhalers probably made it worse.

What I say when people ask what I’ve done is: you ought to see the other one. He’s still on the floor.

I wouldn’t hurt a fly mind but I may hunt them outside if they come in.
