oxygen therapy/steriods

hi me again as you know im new to this therapy i was wondering if anyone can answer me since starting home therapy beginning of april my face is bloated my grand kids say im like alvin the chipmunk lol i was wondering is this the oxygen or steriods as im on 30mg daily hope someone can give me some advice on this thank you x

Sorry that is the steroids. Only thing is if you manage to drop the dosage then the chipmonk look goes as well. But it is worth it to feel better isn't it?

Yes I know I'm on them till august which is getting reduced to 10 mg daily but don know how long that dose will be for but as you say better feeling good thanks for yoir reoly it has helped cos I didn't know what was causing it thanks again tc x

My face went down once I got to 10mg. Hopefully you will be the same.

Hi weeannie60,

I have the same problem I'm on oxygen 24/7 and on 10mg steroids. I wondered if the oxygen had anything to do with my puffy face.

Hi guys, yes it is definately the steroids....long term use does that to the body and also causes osteoporosis because it takes the minerals out of the bones. I will take a short blast of steroids say 5 days if I really do need them...but my consultant agrees long term sterois is not for me....I have established osteoporosis and watched my own mum crumble away literally - I only wish I had the knowledge I have now, back then...
